David Beckham had effigies hanging outside pubs in East London after being sent off, people used to chant "we hope your kid dies of cancer". His crime? Petulantly kicking out at a player.
I can assure you, whoever cocks up the most for England at Euro 2012 will overtake Joey very, very quickly.
My personal take? Joey should have been lying low, he certainly didn't need this. But for all we know, his girlfriend really wanted a night out and be normal for a change. Unless it's her fault too, for being with Joey Barton. But then, following that logic we are also to blame for signing him. He's had previous form. So then, anything Joey does wrong is the fault of QPR. We knew what we were getting into. So really, we've only got ourselves to blame? Where does it all end.
Joey was out of order, and has been punished by the FA. Whether the club decides to keep him is not really relevant to people not at least showing some concern when a QPR player has been attacked.

The day I take my supporting my football club lessons from Chelsea will be a depressing day. Prefer to have nothing to do with them.

Joey just cant win with that lot. You know who you are. The "i dont like confrontations" group
The two ****s who were abusing him, and then assaulted him are very lucky he isn't pressing charges. I assume the police still can though, I'm not au fait with how this works tbf?
It's possible that people can hold nuanced opinions, and not just pick a 'side' and stick firmly to it regardless of evidence.
I think Joey Barton is an idiot and he brings most of his problems upon himself, but don't blame him for this latest attack. I still fervently hope that the club can get shot of him as cost-efficiently as possible, as I believe the baggage he brings with him, far outweighs the benefits of having him at the club.
And if he does go, I'm not going to start trying to score points, and lord it over those fans who think he should stay.

The guy is doing my head in. I know it's the off season, but why go out in a nightclub to the early hours in a city where you're hated by most people and most people in the country?
Just keep a low profile and go abroad.
Let's hope he's done something which means he can be sacked.
Just get rid. Enough is enough.
Supposedly our captain. Just one thing after another with him.

Hope club can get rid of him so we can concentrate on finishing in the top half rather than waiting for the next incident.
