I am not really sure why people think we won't sign him. We had an option to buy if we stayed up. We haven't formally heard we are not getting him. David Mcintyres tweets suggests the deal has not changed

Apparently there was a clause in Diakite's loan contract to say if he started 10 games he was ours for 3.5m. Now Diakite started 9 games then missed the last 3 games with a mystery 'virus'. Personally I smell a rat and as talented as Diakite is, if he'd rather dodge our 3 most important games of the season to ensure he gets the best deal for himself I don't want him at the club!

Has no one thought that it was rangers who stopped him playing. If we had gone down then we wouldn't have been able to afford his wages and fee. We may have money, but we can't keep these players if we had gone down

I canīt really make my mind up regarding Diakite. He is a bit raw in his way of playing, but like Taiwo he improved immensly during his stay at the club.
Anyway, I`ve got the feeling that Hughes rates him. I should believe that he consider Diakite an exciting player to form and/or develop.

yeah, if the board knew we was staying up before the 10 game limit, they would no doubt have snapped him up. just not if we had gone down. our budget for players would have been a lot smaller. i personally think he will sign. if he wasnt then it would have come out by now.
