  • Demba Ba...

Queens Park Rangers are set to meet the release clause in Demba Ba’s contract.

Mark Hughes is eager to bolster his attacking options this summer, as he looks to avoid a repeat of last season when they escaped relegation only on the final day.

The QPR boss is already being to accept he has little chance of persuading Tottenham Hotspur to sell Jermain Defoe, so has instead set his sights on Ba.

The 27-year-old scored 16 Premier League goals for Newcastle United last season, and Hughes is prepared to meet the £7million release clause in his contract.

    surely not

    Whoa.

    Deja vu...

In all seriousness this is so unlikely. It would, of course, be utterly awesome.

Let's not forget he failed a medical at Stoke so although this will never happen, knowing our luck, if it did we'd pay the fee then he'd breakdown.

He started well but as W12 Ranger said, what happened then?

We could activate that clause. But he surely would not join.

I think w12 meant more that the rumour is aload of tosh.

He has been supplying the assists for monsiour cisse. Good partnership there I think.

Would be completely bonkers to buy him imo, very injury prone will require high wages and will be off to acn. We can't afford to lose 6-7 players to the acn every couple of years.

I'm sure Pardew will do his best to wreck the side he has just built.

But him and Dyer would make an awesome 3-legged race team

Just found this on the QPR board as I was having a browse around during a quiet spell. Seems they're after Ba and Simpson....
