Drew 3-3 in Bratislava and Stanley out shone what was supposed to be the top czech player at the time Marian Masney, I remember that game was shown on midweek sports special that wed evening. The czech nationl team were euro champs around that time

yes, we were a cracking side, 6 England internationals, 1 Irish and 1 Scot, add to that Frank McLintock ex Scottish Int. and John Hollins widely considered the best uncappd English player. Just leaves Webby, a player you'd like to be in any side, yer, come to think of it we were better than crackingI must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

I seem to recall that QPR beat SlovanBratislava 5-2 in the home leg before beating Cologne & then AEK Athens both 3-0 in the games at Loftus Rd.
Stan Bowles created a new Uefa cup goal scored record too.
It was a very good QPR side but unfortunately an ageing one that soon broke up.
Makes me laugh when some players fans and managers mock the Europa league. Beating the likes of Sporting Lisbon, Roma, Werder Bremen and Feyenoord will give fans long lasting memories regardless of whether or not they go on to win the cup.
