Clubs dont each time a player says to the club doctor that they have a virus or feeling run down take a test at the first point of notice. The assumption will be its a 24/48 cold etc. Only when prolonged would they do that. By then it is too late. Even if he started to crawl back, he would have missed some training, looked slow and off the pace. No amount of medical diagnostics would detect faking that. His behaviour or views as to his best interests and where he should be when at Le Bourget and Torcy give you a feel for where is coming from.

What are you going on about?
          Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
          And many more mistakes

            QPR close in on Diakite

QPR are set to rush through the permanent £3.2m signing of Samba Diakité after clubs were alerted last night to a possible loophole in his loan deal with Hoops.

Back in France it is understood one of the clauses that triggered an automatic €4million (£3.2m) transfer was a minimum number of games for Rs believed to be 10.

The man who plays internationally for Mali made only nine appearances in a Rangers shirt after a virus cut short his season.

Think people reading way too much into this.

Agents always use other clubs as a negotiating tactic to get the best possible contract for their client. Doesn't mean he doesn't want to play for us.

He looked like a good player for us once he settled down and got a grasp of the English game and I think he would be a good signing! As you say if he isn't going to sign we'll look elsewhere, I'm sure MH can find other similiar players if needed! The point that Deepcut makes is valid too that if this was all an underhanded ploy by him and his agent, would you really want that type of player anyway?

I suspect that we did not want to have to buy him and pay Premier League wages if we were relegated...

                    Hmmmm, virus indeed...

Wow people looking way to into this, he contracted some serious illness which is a private issue for him and none of our business. The idea that he refused to play the incredibly important games at the end of the season is ludicrous and people need to stop spurting nonsense.

We were so desperate not to buy this talented youngster that we jeopardised our chances of staying up by dropping him. Sound logic.

Surely Hughes would've just brought him on with 1 min left at city if this was the case.
Stinks of a cash grabbing agents ploy

Couldn't agree more although it was a risky strategy as we could have done with him in those last few games.
