I lost the last bit of respect I had for him when he said he wouldn't drop a division. That, to me, says he's just after a last big pay day and doesn't give a **** about playing.

Tbf I viewed this the total opposite in that he still wants to play at the top level and so wont drop the level of football he is prepared to play. Surely a mercenary would go to any level of football just for the payday?
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

No thanks to Owen, well past his best and very poor value for money for the wage he would command, get in Yazubu instead, way younger, way cheaper and way better!

think Owen is getting some unfair stick here.

He's always given 100% Injuries do happen, and some people are more prone than others. I would never hold it against him that he gets injured.

Saying he didn't want to drop a division just shows that he wants to be at the top - or not at all. Rather than going from club to club just to get a wage (sol campbell springs to mind)

I rate Owen for his goalscoring ability and footballing brain. he's got genuine experience and class.

he might not fit in our team, might not be right for the club, but if MH signs him then I'll trust him on that and will be very happy to have such a talented scorer in the hoops.

Owen is a lot better than people are making out.

Thought he could only play somewhere which is within travelling distance of his helicopter. Cant see him upping sticks and moving to London. Would expect him to turn up somewhere like Wigan

He's only started like 6 games in 2 years. If I was 32 I'd want to go to a club where I could start as many games as I could. Regardless of injuries, he was always going to be a bit part player at United.

I could be wrong, but I bet when only offers come in from the likes of Stoke City he will indeed go to a foreign league to pick up a big paycheque.

And I don't feel I'm being unfair on Owen, the guy came out with that ****ing brochure. Pretentious ****.
