Barton lovers... Some of you make me die...

I bet a good majority of the people on here who are sticking up for Barton and complaining that he is being hard done by are the same people who were slating his performances for most of the season......:rage:

I think a lot of you are affronted just for the sake of it and or just like to try and defend the indefensible....

Have we forgotten how lame he was for most of the season and when he gave the w@nker sign to Jamie Mackie on the pitch during a game.....I could write a very lengthy list of reasons why he should be offloaded and never play for us again but I will leave you with one thought....

Say for arguments sake we did keep him for whatever reason the question needs to be asked.... Do you really think that he is going to be able to handle the extra 'attention' he will receive on the pitch from opposition players and not get sent off again? I for one don't think he will be able to and think that the man is a toxic influence who, like another one of his peers in John Terry will divide dressing rooms and fans alike and is far more trouble than he is worth....

Comparing his situation to any other player is futile because we are still left with a player with a whole host of baggage and who has had more chances than your average game of Monopoly.....

I have not read every other post relating to Joey Barton but I reckon the points that I have raised are aimed at people like you(judging by your response) who will just defend him JUST because he plays for the R's....

My loyalty is aimed at the club as a whole and I genuinely think that we will be better off without him and we will be able to attract better players without him.... It wouldn't surprise me one bit if there would be players that we are trying to or, indeed have tried to sign who would be put off playing with Joey Barton....

Anyway these forums are designed to give fans the opportunity to air their views... I don't expect everyone to agree but I bet there are plenty out there who don't want him playing for us again....

If you follow your point about attention seeking to a logical conclusion then every new thread is attention seeking surely.....

Someone made a point about it costing the club loads of dough to pay him off well how do we know that the legal team at LR are not looking for a way to sack him for gross misconduct or something similar... However, I am not as well informed as many on here no doubt so it might be that this is not possible....

At not one point have I EVER defended Joey Bartons (JB) actions on the field. He has a hot head (Like many footballers may I add just sometimes on a different level) He was a complete IDIOT against City and could have cost us big time. So for that reason you are right, he deserves what he gets.

However, I totally disagree and believe your points and opinion is wrong. Sorry.

1. HOW ON EARTH!!! Do you think we can afford to offload JB? £11m is being thrown around. What a massive waste of cash that would be..
- Rather see him waste away for three years then let him get away scotch free.
2. HE IS A GOOD PLAYER - Leave him out of the squad till Jan, bring him back in and he will be like a new player/signing.
- He did play a lot of good games, im sorry most will try to disagree but he is a unsung hero in the role he plays. SIMPLE AS THAT. He is a CM who battles and worked up and down. Strong!
3. Fine him 6 week wages as well.
4. Big name player. We are still a small club and cant afford massive players so again keep him for that reason.
5. Get over it, hes screwed up, old news now its happened.
