I feel quite depressed about this recurring debate which is why I haven't bothered posting much recently. Its so overwhelmingly obvious that a striker in the Chopra mode wd transform our side that it is pointless keep re-stating the argument. It is equally obvious that our board are not going to spend the required money. That being the case it is already possible to predict with reasonable accuracy what the result will be this season. The only possible way out of this impasse I see is if we are able to get a decent striker on loan

Have just been looking at some of Beckfords goals and I really wonder if he's such a gamble? It looks to me that he's got most that's needed of a CCC goalscorer..he reminds me a bit of J. Defoe when he ran riot in Bournemoth a few years ago, if someone recalls. Of course, 3,5-4 million is a lot of money but that's the price you'll have to pay, as Cardiff did for Chopra. He might not be good enough for PL but if we actually gets promoted he'd be an excellent 3rd of 4th forward...or sold for 3-4 million. :-)

If we don't get promoted, then we probably have someone who will score goals in this division for years..
