Why do you think our owners are so reluctant to spend....
May I sugest that the £3,500,000 they spent on a midfielder we did not need could have been spent on Beckford. GPs mate Pete has been saying we dont nwe'd one since Tarabbt arrived so we won't be getting one.
have you seen him play....so how do you know we don't need him......if he comes in and scores a few with a few assists chucked in will you sing a different tune then?
Hall, Mahon, Heider, Aggy (although decent, we have Vine), Ephraim and Alberti should be sold way before legs is let go as we don't actually need any of them. Ephraim is a very good player, but won't get in ahead of the likes of Routledge, Buzz and Cook so I would class him as an expendable.
Obviously a big Legiertwood fan where as I'm not....if someone wants to pay £2 million for a player who can't pass or trap a ball we shouldn't stand in their way.
We've Mahon, Rowlands and Faurlin all capable of playing a defensive midfield role.
Who the **** would want to pay good money for Alberti, HH or Aggy...the answer is simple sell a couple of players who a few clubs would defo be interested in signing and we don't necessarily need and go buy a striker with the funds generated.
Because they are absolutely clueless on any football matters, they have the nerve to clear off before the end of the FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON, pursumably because we were losing get a decent forward in to put them good chances we had yesterday and get rid of the planks
Gerry Francis the greatest all round player to come from these shores:super_man:
Which makes sense to me and is something I have been saying for a while. I think we as fans need to accept the board are not willing to take what is probably a major financial risk in their eyes. It is now apparent even though our owners are extremely wealthy they are not prepared to spend vast sums of money on the squad. The next best thing to me would be for this club to be self sufficient and balance the books.
Sell Legiertwood & Hall and go and buy a striker!
That's the trouble with today's "entrepreneur", too afraid to speculate. Jim Gregory, although not a billionaire himself, shelled out quite a bit of dosh in his time, taking what was considered to be a gamble on such players as Marsh and Bowles.
No danger of the tightwads we currently have doing that, is there?
All we will ever do while this policy is in place, is stand still.
We all know Beattie scored goals for fun in this league, which is why Stoke signed him and has been class for them too. As for Chopra he scored 2 yestersday which takes his Championship total to 33 goals in 70 appearances (a goal every 170 mins).
"Yes its frustrating but at least they are keeping us sustainable"
heres an idea then, if flav and amit only charged the interest on the ex abc loan that they are themselves paying on it instead of allegedly making a nice little earner for themselves the club would save 100s of k per month which could go towards the new striker couldnt it
Scott, Pete, Funky what do you reckon?
its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks
put it in perspective, formula 1 car damage anything up to 2m,no problem there just get a new car with not a lot of hope of winning, apart from the odd race;so why not spend a few mill and get some class strikers
Well they are assembling a good side, the did say judge us after 4 years, every year they do add to the squad which is good. I still think that they will go for it next season IMO, I think the final piece to the puzzle will come next summer...
You say Chopra has a great record scoring in the championship, I don't disagree.
But, they are still in the championship hardly made a big difference to them getting promoted
Pete even you must realise that one man doesn't make a team. Chopra can't be blamed if he scores for fun but the defence lets him down. Our defence is tight and if we had someone with Chopra's scoring record he would make a difference.
