  • lets get behind barton

i sick to death of the press and media saying sack him and so on, yes he made a mistake and has made mistakes before but for me he is still worth keeping why should the club be dictated by the media, lets not waste £11 million in sacking him rather that money spent on the squad i also think he needs protecting by referees, what tevez done was nothing short of assult kicking and throwing punches at barton, bradley johnson did the same thing by going to ground in the norwich game, what he done to aguero was a bit out of order but tevez deserved everything he got,at least barton is starting to show some passion for the club.

Passion is worth zilch being sent off on a game where we were fighting for survival. It's an overused word. Any mug can blow a gasket and get sent off, me I;d settle for someone with a little less passion who might stay on a pitch and do things like pass the ball.

I'd probably accept it at any other time if we got the Roy Keane performances to match the 'passion'. My favourite player of all time is Alan McDonald, class act, hard, players dared not mess with him, but he knew his responsibility on the field

Had Peter Crouch not taken a dive for us and Bolton stayed up, there would surely not even be a debate on keeping Barton. It;s actually for our own good we find a way to move him on because he will be targeted by every oppo player looking for a reraction just like Tevez did.

All this while racists get backed fully by the fa and media. All this carry on and you'd think nobody else had ever lost their rag during a game.

what he done was wrong, there is not a Rangers fan in the world who would disagree with that statement. But the way the media are portraying Joey is complete bo**ox. I've got a feeling its more to do with club image more than what Joey done for Rangers to sack him. I'm backing him, but there can be no repeat of such irresponsible behaviour:impatient:
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

I wonder how many times Barton has heard that in his life...

I was angry with him, yes. Our captain had just got himself stupidly sent off, and had acted like a child on the way off the pitch, when we'd just got back into a game we were under the cosh. In a game we probably needed to win to avoid relegation in. Were you celebrating it?

                        and Chardonnay? Oh dear.

                              Deepcut,

You are not one who is usually prone to over reaction. What he did to Aguero was wrong, I think we can all agree on that. However, a few pertinent questions that may help to illustrate how some of us see it.

Did JB deserve to get sent off against Norwich, for not butting Johnson?

What was Johnson's punishment for all his persistent fouling?

Did Derry deserve to get sent off against United?

What was Young's punishment for his blatant dive?

Was what Cisse got sent off for against Wolves that bad, considering what he had just suffered?

What punishment did the Wolves player get?

Whilst Barton should have been sent off for elbowing Tevez, (as it's never going to be acceptable behaviour), should Tevez not have been penalised for the original offence? Because if he had, none of what happened afterwards, would have happened at all.

Surely, what Kompany did was also at the very least a yellow, but borderline red as I think body checking other players like that was many times worse than what Cisse did.

I fully agree that he let both himself and the club down that day, but what some of us find hard to understand is the speed at which some vilify their own players, particularly when a case could be made that in fact, if the appropriate actions had been taken, none of the above would have ended in a Rangers player getting sent off.

Surely you can see that the club have a very good case to show the FA that their appointed officials and their subsequent decisions at the appeals, are in fact the things that are bringing our game into disrepute. I for one, am sick of it.
