he showed some passion and aggression and tried to take an opposing player with him in a massive game that could have sent us down. If it had worked and City went down to 10 men as well would you still be demonizing him?

I'll back my captain if I believe him to be innocent, and I'll back my captain if I think he should be given the benefit of the doubt. I will not back my captain if he deliberately sets about injuring people and shows no remorse for having done so. This does not make me a sheep, it makes he a human being. I want a captain who wears the badge with honour and pride.

Well said mate, and wanting to fight anyone who is within a yard of you, doesn't show passion, it show's a mental instability..

and im sure you will be on here bigging him up next season with the other sheep...Captain of the football club you supposedly support and you treat him like this. You should be ashamed to call yourself a rangers supporter......disgusting.
The only time I "bigged him up" as you put it, was when we first signed him. I merely said he was a risk because of his apparent lack of self control and the man's charge sheet matched his reputation. However, he had been making progress and seemed to be repairing his reputation with some good words and some element of remorse for his previous actions. Good luck Joey and let's hope you prove to be the new man you outwardly portray.

I didn't expect him to be an angel and suspected it would be a rocky road. I did not agree that he was a suitable captain but hoped he would embrace the role and be a leader on and off the pitch.

However, his actions on the pitch speak for themselves, as do his tweets and he has merely proven that a leopard truly does not change its spots.

I have a 10 year old son who follows Rangers all over the Country. He is instilled with proper values, morals and respect. what Barton did at the Ethiad flies in the face of all those things I teach my kids and I will not excuse the pathetic behaviour displayed in the name of misplaced loyalty.

Your comments regarding me are duly noted however, my support for my football club is not fettered by the fact I despise that pathetic excuse of a human being. That I should be ashamed to call myself Rangers because I don't approve of his actions is truly laughable.

If you excuse and indeed regale in his behaviour as you clearly do, I would suggest it is you who should be ashamed, Rangers fan or not.

I'm not going to waste time bouncing this backwards and forwards - that is my opinion and it sits well along side my moral fibre and I don't need you to abuse me for it.

12 wouldn't surprise me. It was pretty extraordinary.

With QPRs top lawyers I think he will get off lightly, nothing like 10 games.

I'm with V block Ranger on this. He deserves a ban and will get one but i think the media frenzy because it's Barton and calls to sack him are beyond ludicrous. He was pivotal in our survival and i for one look forward to seeing him in hoops next season. It is however all about opinions.

well i want a Captain that does things that need to be done for the good of the team despite what trouble he himself might get into while doing it. I want a leader and someone with passion and a fair amount of aggression to get the job done. I want a winner who doesnt let morals get in the way of winning. If someone needs to be fouled to stop an opponent scoring or if a dive needs to be taken to win a penalty then so be it. Its called football...youve probably seen a lot of it on TV as those things happen in football all the time. Some of you are so high up on your high horse i doubt whether the TV remote works from where you are.Like i said...SHEEP...BAAAAAA. He will obviously get a ban as he himself expected to but he will be back next season and if he puts in some displays like he did towards the end of this season then we will be a better team for it. He is well liked in the dressing room and if it had been anyone of the other players who did what he did would there be the media craziness? He wears a rangers shirt and i will back him and its embarrassing that you will not. Bunch of Tarquins embarrassing

Sorry with vblock on this , loved the passion AND aggression
He showed, better than some of the fairies we have had playing
As for suspension, should be given an award for singing ring
A ring A roses and getting the city players to all fall down

                                7 games imo;

4 for Teves (2nd red), 3 for Aguero, will get away with Kompany's blagging his head was pushed and there was no contact.

So 7, and a warning off 1 season ban for any more misdemeanours.. anyone know what time we get announcement? I'm hoping De Jong to replace Barton with Clint/Anton taking up captain role permanently.
