  • Tony getting ahead of himself ?

City’s Etihad Stadium holds just under 48,000, a facility which Fernandes, who has made the construction of a new ground a priority, believes QPR could match in the coming years.

“I don’t think we have quite the resources that they have there, but the size of the stadium, the facilities, there’s no reason why we can’t do something like that,” said Fernandes.

    Nice tho !!

he could possibly getting ahead of himself . but city was tony's first away game - only the second stadium he's ever visited - so it could just be a reaction , something akin to the awakening a rio favela child experiences when he or she glimpses decent housing for the first time.

Im sure people said the same when hhe laid out initial plans for his airlines too.

He is a very ambitious n successful business man and, I for one, am not going to question him. Who knows how much our club will grow in the coming years?

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Fernandes has built Air Asia into a massive brand, I presume he wants to do the same with QPR. Considering where we're located there's a lot of potential and with the class of personnel he's brought in with Phillip Beard, Mike Rigg and of course Mark Hughes it's clear he's looking to fulfil that potential. A 48K sized stadium seems absurd now, but if we finish in the top half of the table for the next few seasons and are competing in Europe on a regular basis it might not be that ridiculous.

I think your all wrong. Tony is right.

QPR has a lot of potential, we have one of the most valuable grounds in the Premiership, plus we are in a fantastic catchment area in West London, we are creating new fans all the time and the club is only going to get bigger.

I think it will take time, but if we can push for a Europa spot over 2 years then I can only see QPR becoming stronger.

No need for a stadium that big? must admit did like etihad but 28 to 30.000 would be big enough but put foundation in to allow the ground to tb adapted to a bigger capacity
