  • Pointers from yesterday..........

Firstly great to be back. Usual buzz about the place, but like a lot of Saturdays last season the players let us down. Magilton got his tactics wrong.

How Fitz Hall continues to play for the club I don't know. How can our player of the season and young player of the season both be dropped to the bench. If they were not fit enough then they should not be in the team as far as I am concerned.

Cerny- Didn't have a lot to do. I do feel he should have come out for their goal. He seemed to hesitate and backed off to his goal.

Ramage- best game for us. Pleased for him.

Hall- I never feel comfortable with him in the team. Can't believe he got in ahead of Stewart.

Borrowdale- he does exist. He looks a bit like Vine. Didn't have much to do but Connolly is much better and should have played.

Routledge- is in the team on reputation. Goes in and out of games. Been disappointed with him.

Mahon- steady job but won't be in the team when people like Ledge are back.

Rowlands- injured..................again. Missed his leadership after he went off.

Balanta- showed some good touches but didn't see enough off the ball.

Tarbat- showed glimpses but tired towards the end of the game. Needs to know when to pass.

    Helguson- a load of old w a n k. How he can't score I don't know.

Team for next Sat should be.

    Cerny
    Ramage
    Gorks
    Hall
    Connolly
    Routledge
    Rowly?
    Ledge
    Vine
    Agymang
    Tarbat

    Roll on Exeter
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Just out of curiosity, why would you even consider dropping Borrowdale, when he hardly put a foot wrong?

And if you are never comfortable with Hall as centre half, why pick him for next Saturday?

Connolly for Hall I would totally agree with, but in fairness, if Connolly had only ever played for us as a left back, ( and never in his best position ), he would no doubt get and as justifiably as any other player, some fearful criticism.

I mean't to put in Stewart! Whoops!

Connolly is far better than Borrowdale. He wasn't exactly tested by Blackpool!

im one of the ones who chose hall over stewart and still would but yesterday hall was ****ing me off with the long balls, i say leave borrowdale he was solid and bring in connolly for hall. but we know that aint gonna happen, perhaps that why hammersmith put down that defence, hes bein realistic. hes edited now, so he was bein optimistic... hahahah

I would agree with that statement. But not as a left back he isn't.

People say we missed Rowland's leadership, yet we played better, created more chances and got a goal after he went off.

So why was he on the bench?

If you are not fit, you shouldn't be in the squad.

                    What was wrong with Stewart?
