  • Where were all the goals from midfield?

Blackpool one of the poorest teams in the league and we managed a shanked cross from a right back

The evidence is the for everyone to see and only backed up what the majority had been screaming over the summer
its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks

but if you are not in the starting blocks to begin with then catch up is alot harder...specially with non scoring strikers as well.

over reaction? LMAO. we need a striker pete, no thats a lie.... we need 2 strikers mate. if our centre backs were as **** as our strikers would we be saying dont worry the midfield will chip in and stop the goals? no ud be sayin we need to get new defenders in. its the same with strikers, they are the blokes who are meant to bag you around 40 goals between the 4 of em say aswell as the midfield chippin in. our strikers will struggle to get 14 between the lot of them

No its not Pete its a league.

a league is about a cumulative points total, points lost cannot be recovered they are gone forever, however we play from now on we will never get those 2 points back from blackpool. you attitude of not to worry we will sort it out later defies logic.

your argument prior to the start of the season was dont worry about goals from strikers because the midfielders will score instea

well yesterday we played at home against one of the teams tipped for relegation who barely managed to string 2 passes together in the whole game, our strikers failed to convert chances and our midfielders didnt score.

The evidence was in front of your own eyes yesterday.

Sometimes sense is talked by the lads on this board. Other times it descends into rank hypocrisy as per QBP's "marathon not a sprint" comment. A piece de resistance in pot calling kettles noir.

Unfortunately - the dismissal Sousa (and to a lesser extent Dowie and DeCanio) have lead the supporters down the same path as FB - Success now, or out.......

Made a rod for their own back. Tough.

Ask me again end of August, still think you cannot make judgements after a 1-1 draw versus Blackpool. Our style of football was excellent at times and if we had won 3-0 and I made the point of not needing a striker, you too would be saying its only one game and we still need one.

Tarrabt will get used to playing up front and others like Helguson when they score 1 might then find the net regularly.

might is as bad as if's and but's........no matter what way you twist it we need strikers who can finish......HH needs to be offloaded asap.
As for Tarrabt he is a winger not a striker......with the league so strong we haven't got time for him to get used to playing up front.

                            another question

what happend to passing football an no long balls?

they must have hit it long 10 times in the first 15 minutes

Okay, we win 3-0 in our next 2-3 games, would you still think we need a striker? Of course you would

Means a result does not mean a thing, thats why we know more after 6-7 games.

1-1 and we had all the possession, I'm not too upset.

Quaz, I guess you were advocating we got rid of Furlong, when he went through a really lean spell?
