  • Thought Balanta was unlucky

    to be taken off.

Personally would have put him upfront and taken Helguson off. Didnt do much wrong and had two shots on target which was more than anyone else could muster.

Not quite on target. But I agree.

Balanta didn't looked anything special, had 2 shots OFF target and deserved to be taken off with Helguson. Correct me if I'm wrong you are talking about when he hit the side netting in the first half and the outside of the post from 6 yards in the 2nd half.

Both substitions JM made were spot on and the timimng 55 mins was perfect...my third substitution would have been Rowlaands for Ageymeng but fate intervened and it happened anyway.

Seeing Vine, Paddy & Buzsaky on the same pitch excited me TBH.

Feel we are building this lads part up a bit too much, too date I have not seen anything to suggest he is going to be great player. Heard a few people on here talking about how great he is suppose to look in training but technically he looks average to me in competitive matches.

I'd play him against Exeter then drop him to the bench against Plymouth and ease him into the starting 11.

Keiron St Aimee was going to be the next best thing after his pre-season goal v Celtic. Personally, I would give Angelo time to develop as a squad player this season rather than a starter.

Too many people are swayed by what they see pre-season. Pre-season performance means jack, always has and always will.

I think a few posters on this site are have building him up a little too much this summer. The lad doesn't need unecessary expectation in his ability and your right pre-season means **** all. Apparently Ageymang has looked disinterested all summer and lazy which was the opposite he looked yesterday when he came on.

Balanta needs time and he will gradually improve. I agree with W2 Rangers that he should start against Exeter and be on the bench against Plymuff, but he should not be ignored at all like previous seasons. He needs confidence from JM.

I must have been watching a completely different game yesterday as apart from not getting his strike on target and just a couple of mis-placed passes, Angelo was outstanding. His touch was class and for a youngster his vision was top drawer.

Paddy was poor when he came on and was stupidly caught off-side twice as well as playing quite a few poor passes. Vine looked good but also played some shocking balls and missed a couple of sitters. Even Buzz played a couple of bad passes, however his overall contribution was very good.

It's amazing how different fans see things as Paddy and Vine didn't excite me in the slightest whereas Balanta did.

hi did very little, consistently lost us possesion in the first half and missed 2 decent chances, I cant think who should have been taken off instead.

he will have better games in the future but we needed to shake things up and he was an obvious choice

Agyemang actually did a great job as a target man, I thought. He does worry defences. What we need with him, or with Helgusson, is a proven goalscorer. I think Vine is better out wide.

We must have been watching the same game as well then.

Benny by the way you failed to note the superb cross from Paddy which led to Vine missing that sitter on the volley....had Vine scored we would all be talking about the Paddy / Vine show again because we are fickle like that

I didn't miss it mate, but that's all he really did. I'm just putting into perspective that some are saying Balanta didn't play well but happy to praise Vine and Aggy when they didn't have the best games themselves. For me, Vine has the excuse of lack of confidence in the form of his injury. It'll take him a few more game before he'll trust his leg enough to put it about as much as he did before.

Aggy worked hard, I'll give him that, but he still played some poor passes.
