how many player do we need

how many players do qpr need to build a top side capable of winning a trophy next season

i think if we get yacuba from blackburn we may well have a top ten side
do you guys agree

i would love to see a new goalkeeper as well but i still think with just one striker we could really do well next season

We need
1. A prem experienced keeper
2. A couple of defenders mainly cb apart from Ferdinand and hill we actually have nobody. traore and young are already good enough to cover full back
3. Midfield is a big problem IMO Barton faurlin and diakite can't argue with that but who do we have to replace if stuff goes wrong? Derry not good enough same goes for buz.
4.a couple of strikers need at least another goal scorer cisse is not enough and another Zamora type player our subs for strikers is really bad.
5. A few or maybe one winger Jamie mackie god bless him is good but sometimes his first touch ruins opportunity.

1. New goalie, I'd say Kasper Schmeical. He'll be a great keeper.
2. Right winger, give Jamie some competition. I'd say Moses.
3. Tall striker that can hold up the ball, and also be a goal scorer so Kenwyne Jones.
4. Sign Diakite permanently, Diakite and Faurlin in the centre would be amazing.
5. Sign Taiwo permanently, a great left back and great at set-pieces and crossing
6. Youngster to come on from the bench every so often e.g. Jordan Rhodes, Nicky Powell etc.

We definitely need a couple of centre backs, at least one playmaking central midfielder (assuming Barton is going to be suspended and hopefully moved on)
and a striker to cover / compete / compliment Zamora and Cisse. And I don't think any of them should be approaching their late 20s hoping for a final big, fat contract. Think a long-term strategy is needed and what the club will look at - i.e investing in players who can compete for a place but develop over the years - so no Yakubu for me.

Don't think it's even worth me naming names. Apparently Eddie Niedwieski has an encyclopedic knowledge of players abroad and our scouting network is looking in that direction.

The contrast of Liverpool's spending spree on English players, Newcastle signings from France and Germany and our signings of Diakite and Taiwo proved there's better players on the continent for a fraction of the price and salaries we were paying out for Barton, Young and SWP

We have to buy a player as cover for Faurlin aswell. We donīt his situtation concerning his injury just yet; will he be able to play before October and will he instantly recover to regain the level he was on or not?
I hope and think he will, but we have to make sure that we have cover for all positions.
IMO, I will keep Derry(continuity and commitment) and make sure that all new signings will accept the fact that they are not bigger than the club. I suppose we will rotate the squad as other BIG clubs do.

Agreed 100%. The club should only sign players over say, 26 in exceptional circumstances.
