  • Trouble in Loftus Road after the game

Left Ellerslie Road about 10 mins after the game today with my 8 year old son and cut down Loftus Road, and walked in on about 10/20 neandethals (Rangers and Blackpool) squaring up to each other in the street initially, then it turning nasty, f'ing and blinding, fists (and a large road cone) flying and (eventually) stewards appearing on masse to try and calm things down. Was standing with Julie from AKUTR's while this all went off. I have been going to Rangers for 30 years and have never seen such behaviour, it was particularly upsetting as my son was there and shouldnt have to see that. Some Blackpool fans passed me and apologised, then ruined it by saying it wasnt their fault and it was only Rangers fans that has instigated it. Funny (irony dear reader) as I saw enough coming back from the Blackpool 'hards' to show this wasnt one way traffic. Had to cut back into the entrance/exit and take a short cut through the back of the Loftus Road stand.
I am exiled in Norwich these days and get to very few games anyway, it will be even less after such pointless, beer fuelled, violence. While I dont want my son to grow up in cotton wool, this is not right. I hope if the *****s concerned ever get to read this (assuming they can read of course) they realise what absolute *****s they are.

    yeah

there will always be some outbreaks of violence but that is more a society issue.qpr have verry little problems at loftus road if you get caught up in it you must just run for cover,i saw some blackpool fans throwing drinks down on the heads of qpr fans
that action undoubtedly started the problems there was more fighting up at the top end of south africa road,
i am sorry your son was frightened if i was there i would have protected you but i wasnt there

Sad you had to witness this with your son i hope it has not put you off to much i was in the loft so did not witness any of this,
I was in south africa road that time when portsmouth kicked off and nearly got arrested for standing my ground as women and children got behind us its a shame that a few *****s feel the need to fight over a game of football.
Dyslexic so please don't feel the need to correct my spelling mistakes as I really don't give a **** and before you say use spell checker if it is spelt right / wright but not in context spell check is useless

          i dont think

i dont think *****s is a fair description, some people feel the need to fight
they arnt *****s they just feel the need to fight its a loy to do with getting
          beaten up by other fans
when i got kicked all around the old loft by chelsea fans it does kind of leave you with the thought of revenge
but that is human nature,i guess

Did hear that there was a small flashpoint in South Africa Rd after the game but that was between two Rangers fans :(

Real shame that this still continues and some cannot move on!

SAw quite a few stewards running around after the game, and its very rare I see trouble these days. Very surprised it happened against a team like Blackpool

there were a few blackpool lads coming down sar trying to provoke things as early as 2:15 they were only in there early twenties or so and were basically ignored but of course if they acted in the same way after the game we have enough of our own that would be interested and unfortunately thats all its ever going to take for trouble to flare up

Sorry to hear about trouble between our own supporters thats really dissapointing to hear as well
its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks

Was in the club shop after the game and it was packed. Some people where queuing one side then another que started along another isle some bloke started gobbing off to another couple of people that the queue started over there and noway were they going to get served before. A steward came over and had a word but he kept going on.We were further up the queue payed for our things and went.Could of been him kicking off in SAR.

Horrible. That should not happen in todays world of sport of FAIR GAME which should be outside the pitch and among the fans as well.

Through the laws of averages there has to be a poster on this board involved (as with any board). Would love an explanation.

The origianl poster was talking about QPR and Blackpool fans, not our own.
