Who gives a fuc k coz we got the end result ..........

I don't think w'd be getting a slap on the wrist , a fine and a welcome back into the boardroom do you !!!!
I don't think business conferences are generally known for hard contact interaction for 90 mins are they. Also unless you're a genius or designer or something, I doubt you're an asset worth £millions...?

Everyone condemning him are ignoring the most important fact.... He didn't do anyone any injury whatsoever! It all looked worse than it was but was lightweight. The 2 Argies made a complete meal of their incidents, tevez minor contact - anything alse and there'd have been blood / damage. Aguro got a little knock in his leg so bad he was up and playing fine in seconds. As for the phantum headbutt, Lescott pushed him in the back of the head which instigated the movement towards Kompany.

I guarantee there will be more lasting damage and pain inflicted by a Clint Hill full blown and fair 50 / 50 challenge.

    The game's gone soft!

Matty, when you get on site tomorrow morning the first person that pi*ses you off can you elbow him in the head then kick somebody else and when the 3rd comes in to break it up throw a head butt at him. what will be the correct stance from your boss ?
        1) Nice one Matty, get on with your work
        2) Your Fired

At the end of the day JB is at work and has let his clubs down to many times also he will be an even bigger target next season so it will happen again.

Whether the offences were as bad as is being painted or not, the fact is that he unfortunately IS a liability, as other teams will wind him up to get a reaction and to get him red-carded -- and we've seen the effect on the team of that too many times this season.

A big, big shame for him, and for us in a way.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

The club will be carrying out an 'internal investigation' for two reasons imho :-
            1) To give time to investigate whether dismissing Barton for gross misconduct is a viable option (legal justification and financial implications)
            2) To see whether there is any truth in his public assertion that he was acting on a teammates suggestion "that he try to take one of their's with him"

Not sure that anyone really believes 2) and they might not get to the bottom of it anyway but along with the kicking of Aguero and the following unsavoury behaviour it may be enough to tip the balance against him.

The owners may look at it from the point of view that they are contracted to pay this guy £10-12M? over the next three years. His play does not justify that amount and his behaviour makes it questionable whether he will be available for much of the time anyway. Does it make sense to cut your losses even if you can't sack him for gross misconduct?

Joey seems to be on a recurring cycle of red mist > lashing out > apology > rehabilitation > red mist. A new life style, other interests, settled relationship, young son seem to have made little difference to his ability to contain his anger. Sunday is a warning to the board that this could be just one of a continuing and very unhappy sequence.

Subject to 1) and 2) above I would be thinking of sacking him.

Transfer listing Joey would be asking for the worst possible outcome i.e being stuck paying millions to a disillusioned and potentially very disruptive player. Sends shudders.

The problem is that players contracts are watertight to make it nigh on impossible to sack them.

They were discussing this on Talksport the other day and an example was raised by an expert about one club that tried to sack someone for gross misconduct after they punched a team mate and broke his jaw.... The appeal was thrown out!

If lawyers can get around examples like that, they will get around what Joey did quite easily.

Not that i want him sacked, he's a *****, but he eventually came good for QPR, but i reckon they could sack him on the grounds he openly admitted that he tried to take a Man City player with him and also, slandered the club by insinuating this was an action advised by one of the players.... We'd have to sack Cissie also if it were just due to a dismissal..... even the violent conduct.

I would be surprised if football players are treated any different in employment law to the next person. You would have to know all about a case to know whether punching a team mate was gross misconduct. What if the other guy started the fight? What if the force used was understandable in the circumstances? Fights are not unusual at football clubs. What if the club had been inconsistent in the way it treated such things and appeared to be using the incident as a means of getting rid of this player?

I seem to remember a 'head butt' resulting in a manager being sacked.

Just tried it; I missed with the elbow and Donalthe irish foreman clumped me 1 round the head. Boss told me I'm an idiot and need to get down the gym, job is safe though.

Well I doubt QPR will sack him as we'll owe him £11m cash upfront so I doubt it will go down that line.
We certainly won't sell him as firstly his wages will put clubs off and who would want him with a 10 game ban?
So I think we will see him in a QPR shirt again at some point, he was great for us Vs Spurs and Stoke so rather than look at his bad side perhaps people should look at the good he has done for QPR.

He did is part in keeping us up, plus the Man City sending off was like a sketch

Speaking after the event is an easy thing to do as his sending off ultimately did not cost us our place in the league, but I want him to stay...............and after all was that not just the best sending off ever....top class, nice one Joey!!

Why would it cost us £ 11 m to sack him !!! If you sack someone for a breach of discipline etc it doesn't cost you a penny !!!!. Its not like he's a manager that hasn't performed and produced results . This is totally different .

Interesting take on it here here .

As the attack on Aguero was 'outside 'the referees running of the game and the game had effectively been stopped it can be classed as assault .

What John Terry did was during play ...what Joey Barton did was 'outside' of play !!

Saw on the news this morning that Carlos Tevez has withdrawn his apology to saf, basically saying **** him,and claiming Fergie is like the president in this country, sort of shows what slimy backstabbing slug of a man he is, maybe JB should point this out, to show Tevez is a cheating ****** and deserved the elbow
