  • My marks Out Of 10 For Players this Season

The following is my view on the squad this season

1Paddy Kenny (G) 6/10 No disputing that he has performed well and saves against RVP against Arsenal paved the way for a win against highflying Arsenal but whether he will be number 1 choice next season is opento question. Think we will be looking for extra competition in this department. Though must add he has been a tremendous servant to QPR and kept us in many games both this season and last.

24Radek Cerny (G) 5/10 Had an excellent game against Liverpool and some even made noises that he should have been number 1 keeper. Top professional who went above Murphy in the pecking order though whether he can maintain this position is debatable.

3Clint Hill (D) 9/10 Must have thought his days were numbered when Warnock shipped him out to Nottingham Forest only to be given the chance under Mark Hughes to play in his best position at the heart of the centre of defence. I really hope he gets given a contract extension but club might feel that another season in the premiership might just be a step too far. A credit to our football club and whatever happens will always be highly regarded. Quite rightly received Player Of the Season from players and the fans.

5Fitz Hall (D) 3/10 Had continual injury problems throughout the early part of the season and even by his own admission was left out of match-day squads even though he had recovered fully from injury. Made a contribution early part of season but I suspect he will be on his way come the summer

6Danny Gabbidon (D) 4/10. Got bench time in the final few games but again found 1st team opportunities limited and I suspect being a Warnock signing he maybe another who will be looking for another club in the summer.

13Armand Traore (D) 6/10 Not been given enough chances in my view> Whilst defending is not his strong suit he is probably the best crosser of a football at the club. His pace catches defenders out and given more opportunities left wing I still think he is young enough to make an impact. Not sure if Hughes like him as much with the loan signing of Taiwo but time till tell.

15Bruno Perone (D) 1/10 not altogether sure why he even made the 25 man squad and looked very shaky in the one game he started. Not surprisingly left out of the January 25 squad and surely will be off in the summer.

18Luke Young (D) 7/10 Until the arrival of Nedum Onuha arguably one of our better defenders and once he got injured surprisingly could not find his way back in. Somewhat surprised to see him leave half time against Stoke City so not sure if he is in plans for next season> One of the most interesting to see if stays or goes in the summer

34Taye Taiwo (D) 6/10 Took time to settle in and the game against Aston Villa was a baptism of fire. I love his attitude and you can see how much he enjoys playing for us. He has now settled and think he has made the left back position his own and suspect it’s a formality he joins for next season on a permanent basis

35Anton Ferdinand (D) 8/10 One of my best players of the season and when he finally got a settled partner we were able to concede far less goals. My ideal candidate for captain next season because I think he carries himself in way befitting of our club. Think he has many more years to give to QPR

42Nedum Onuoha (D) 5/10 I am still not convinced but Mark Hughes is and that’s what matters. Think at this level he is prone to make a mistake and sometimes lacks concentration. No doubting his pace and strength and I now think the right back position is set in stone for him.

2Samba Diakite (M) 8/10 After the first game was wondering how he would react to the pace of the premiership. Clearly brought into the first team far too early but what a revelation after his sending off. Needs working on his shots at goal but exactly the kind of player we need as someone who is great in a tackle and with more games will become one of the best midfielders in the Premiership. Just hope we can sign him

4Shaun Derry (M) 8/10. What more can be said that in my view this guy is a legend of QPR whatever happens in the near future. Simply outstanding and a never say die attitude makes him a character worth having around the club. Whether he has another season this vigourous is open to question but surely has a part to play

7Adel Taarabt (M) 7/10 By his own standards not had a great season. He is though a big match player as shown against Spurs and Arsenal. After the comical departure at Fulham to find a bus stop he has improved his tracking back and team play under Mark Hughes. I can only see him having a better season in 2012/13 and suspect he will put in more match winning performances.

8Kieron Dyer (M) 0/10 Really cannot say too much though it was a big risk to bring him to the club, one which took about 10 minutes of the first game to show it clearly did not pay off

11Alejandro Faurlin (M) 8/10 I have given him an 8 because he never fails to disappoint and when can only hope he returns the player he was. So frustrated he got an injury against MK DONS in a competition that the then manager Neil Warnock never really took seriously. It’s likely we won’t see him back until November so it will be a key decision by Mark Hughes to see if he is included in the first 25 squad announcement come the end of August.

14Akos Buzsaky (M) 5/10 I felt he struggled coming to terms with the pace, but can still take a mean free kick though one would question if he warrants a new contract with the ambitions of the club. He has been a very good player for us and still remains the longest serving player at the club.

17Joey Barton (M) 4/10 A big decision for the club is pending after the fracas against Manchester City and I fear the FA will give him a 10-12 game ban. No disputing his passion and after Hughes dropped him to the bench against Sunderland he definitely played his part in keeping the club up. No doubting on his day he is in your face midfielder who gives 100% but the other side is something that surely will see his captaincy of the club questioned at the very least.

21Tommy Smith (M) 3/10 Not really been given a look in after a smashing goal v Wigan. Was used as sub sparingly and no doubt one of the main sufferers of the new signings coming into the club. I suspect he won’t be around next season but has done well for us.

32Shaun Wright-Phillips (M) 4/10 A major disappointment who looked like a great signing the time we played Newcastle United at home. Being switched continually by Neil Warnock must have dented his confidence and I feel he still has alot more to offer. Felt he worked his socks off against Manchester City but with Jamie Mackie being preferred on the right think his chances will be limited and another key decision awaits if a club from the premiership comes calling.

9DJ Campbell (F) 4/10 I felt he has been incredibly unlucky and I really wanted him to do well with his QPR connections but it seems Mark Hughes has a different opinion. With the signing of Djibril Cisse think his chances of making his dreams come true at QPR will be very limited and suspect another promoted team will come calling especially if Blackpool make the top flight

10Jay Bothroyd (F) 3/10 Major, major disappointment for me, this guy has all the attributes to be a top class premiership player yet continues to disappoint . I had hoped that Mark Hughes could get his positioning right and get him fiercely contesting the tackles and headers, this has not happened and for that reason could be on his way this summer

12Jamie Mackie (F) 9/10 What can I say? He may not be the greatest footballer in Britain but he has the heart of a lion. He simply never gives up and awarded with another year extension on his contract. Responsible for turning our season around with his winning goal against Liverpool and continues to give everything for QPR

20Rob Hulse (F) 1/10 Again got one or two chances under mark Hughes, but will surely get an opportunity to make a comeback in the Championship and I suspect will do a good job for someone like Leeds or Sheffield United.

22Heidar Helguson (F) 6/10. Injury had curtailed him playing any part in the latter part of the season but was instrumental in making lives difficult for a number of defenders in the Premiership. I think he has a great leap and gives everything but suspect that again another club will come calling this summer. Bearing in mind he seems down the pecking order behind at least 3 strikers he will be a great acquisition for a number of other clubs

23Djibril Cisse (F) 7/10. Would get a higher mark only for two sending offs which could have cost us. No doubt has great pace and an eye for goal and I suspect if we can keep him fit for next season he will play a pivotal role in banging in the goals. Just needs to work a little on his temperament then we have a great signing on our hands

52Bobby Zamora (F) 6/10 He has scored goals and his hold up play has enabled the team to get forward. A bit inconsistent for my liking but has been the lone figure up front for us towards the end of the season. He totally suits the style of a 4-5-1 formation and bearing in mind we done well against teams at home with this set-up he will continue valuable asset to our team next season

0/10 For Kieron Dyer. Harsh! I thought he was outstanding in both minutes he played for us...

              • 1Paddy Kenny (G) 6/10 Done what was required, brilliant saves one game, average the next with question marks left over some goals we would have expected a goalie of his quality to make

              • 24Radek Cerny (G) 6/10 Was there when we needed him and performed above what I would have expected from a goalie at his ages who is injured and not played for 2 years

              • 3Clint Hill (D) 8.5/10 POTY – Had my vote, to me when he step in the CB position with Ferdinand not only did he make it his own but also brought the best out of Ferdinand

              • 5Fitz Hall (D) 4/10 Done ok when on the pitch but as stated always injured and cant be relied on.

              • 6Danny Gabbidon (D) 5/10. Same as Fitz Hall but a little bit more reliable.

              • 13Armand Traore (D) 6/10 Agree defending is not the strongest he is quick, offers so much going forward always a threat. To me him left midfield with Taiwo in defence I think could prove to be a very strong line up.

              • 15Bruno Perone (D) No score didn’t really play and should not have been signed

              • 18Luke Young (D) 5/10 When I first saw him play I thought he was a super signing but it was not until Nedum Onuha had settled in that I could see his weakness, doesn’t close down enough allowing crosses or shots to come in and can get caught attacking to much leaving spaces at the back.

34Taye Taiwo (D) 7/10 Agreed took time to settle in but when he did settle in no one beat him. Not the fastest, one footed but he reads his position and the game like a professor and uses his body and positional sense to mark out all most all of his opponents and can deliver a mean cross too.

              • 35Anton Ferdinand (D) 8/10 Started the season playing superbly, but the incident against pooh face some how knocked his confidence or concentration and with the losing streak lost his form. Found his form again with the arrival of CH, and towards the end of the season look class.

              • 42Nedum Onuoha (D) 6.5/10 Again very slow to show his form, look uncomfortable, gangerly and a poor version of a CB or RB. However as he got more games he got the better he got, closed down the crosses, positional play was good, was harder to beat in the air and tackle and made the RB his position and showed by MH brought him.

              • 2Samba Diakite (M) 7.5/10 Nightmare first game but to me it was not all his fault, he was following MH instructions trying to get stuck in and make a name for himself and MH should have subbed him before he got sent off. But after that game he went from strength to strength, get powerful runs forward, tackling, breaking the play and topped it all off with the gaol that beat Arsenal. Him and Ali in the middle of the park next season and that looks like an amazing CM paring next year if we get him.

              • 4Shaun Derry (M) 8/10. What more can be said that in my view this guy is a legend of QPR whatever happens in the near future. Cany add anything else that what you say.

              • 7Adel Taarabt (M) 5.5/10 Took to long to find his feet, get a feeling that when in the Championship he needed the special treatment to make him play, but when asked to step up and be part of the team at the beginning of the season didn’t show or treat the management or team mates with the respect they deserved and as a result to me was very poor. However after the change in management he changed, his attitude changed and his performance changed even to the degree he got booked for a tackle while defending. Can offer so much more if he is ready to learn and to me can do so much better than he did.

              • 8Kieron Dyer (M) 0/10 No score didn’t really play and should not have been signed

              • 11Alejandro Faurlin (M) 7/10 Biggest miss when he got injured and in fact I don’t think we ever replaced him as we struggled to keep possession and I feel we would have won a couple of more games if he had stayed fit. Would have been POTY if it was not for the injury .

              • 14Akos Buzsaky (M) 4/10 A low score but that is because to me he can do better, no doubting his effort, but I feel he seem to have lost confidence and there were opportunities in games he did come on for to make the difference which he did not take. Akos is one of my favourite players and maybe that’s why I marked him low as I do feel he can do much better than he offered this season.

              • 17Joey Barton (M) 6/10 Did not live up to all the hype and big name player he is meant to be. Lost his way with SWP and wasn’t until he got booed and looked in the mirror did he step up. But when he did step up he did play a big part in keeping us up and there were some good performances. Not mentioning anything else as we have enough soap operas in this country and don’t need another one.

              • 21Tommy Smith (M) 4/10 Done what was needed when he was called upon but did not play a big enough part to warrant any more. Feel he will be one player who will move on and go with my best wishes as it was his goal at Watford that had me dancing in hospital to get us promoted.

              • 32Shaun Wright-Phillips (M) 4/10 Plays in any position you ask him too and does a lot of work off the ball and defending I feel he forgets that he is there to score and create goals which is what he is going to be judged on. If he is to stay and play he needs to find his attacking / dribbling / shooting boots for next season otherwise like at Man C, Pooh Pants Club will find himself as a sub next year.

              • 9DJ Campbell (F) 3/10 Didn’t get much of a chance to get many more points to me, scored a goal at Wolves but didn’t do anything else when he did come on a sub which I found disappointing because even with such limited time a this level you need to make it count to put pressure on your fellow professionals which I did nt think he done.

              • 10Jay Bothroyd (F) 4/10 Should have done more with the chances he had, the fact that apart from one game I cant remember him imposing himself on any game he played a part in. This could be to the fact I think he cant play u front on his own which is what we asked of him, but nneeds to play in some sort of free role like at Carbiff which was never there.

              • 12Jamie Mackie (F) 8.5/10 Cant separate him or CH, when the crowd needs a lift he does it, when the team needs a lift he does it and when some think we are beat he licks them in the #### and say no chance. Not the most skillfull but hey all teams need his never say die attiude and endless as all teams need a balance.

              • 20Rob Hulse (F) No score didn’t really play and should not have been signed

              • 22Heidar Helguson (F) 7/10. Paying superb until the injury and was a main striker and without him at the start of the season we would have not won as many games and got relegated which is why he gets a 7.

              • 23Djibril Cisse (F) 7/10. 6 goals 8 games and the goal against Stoke that’s all I need to say

              • 52Bobby Zamora (F) 7/10 Never going to be a goal scorer and in fact was brought in to do all the running and hold up play to set up and play along Cisse, who then got send off twice which minimised his effect on games as the other strikers were not of the same calibre. Runs, battles, holds up play, sets up chances and is to me a far better player than what some give him credit for because like Mackie give the team other attributes which help balance the side.
One for all.... and all for one

the interesting line prob lost in there is that faurlin will be out for so long and questioning whether he will even be in the 25. Not good.

On the scores, think sentiment has led you give too high marks to Derry, Mackie and even Clint. Traore worth more than "six" imo.

I agree, But maybe not the 10/10.
Mackie has been a reliable player overall this season when it was important.
                      The contract extension reflected that.
Will be a Important Player next season.

                          m,y

                          my thoughts are below

cisse 10/10 quite simpley the new jimmy greaves next season he will hit the thirty goal mark, hes quite simpley the second best striker in the clubs history ferdinand being the greatest striker
i think cisse will get one hundred goals in the next five seasons, and its my dream that we sign yacuba from blackburn to play along side him

hill 9/10 ambsolutely fabulous make him captain and give him a new contract

mackie 9/10 when i bigged up his performances, everyone said my named rhymed with hunt
but mackie brings passion to the club........hes a lion heart he never gives up and hes gonna be worth twenty million pounds

helgerson 8/10 and our leading goalscorer ,althrough his career hes been injury prone but i think he could still score goals next season for us

diakite 8/10 athleticsm and magnificent in midfield hope we can sign him

tarrabt 7/10 hes not had a brilliant season but i feel he will improve

ferdinand 7/10 solid at the back, when hill retires give him the captains role but hill could be around for another two seasons,he dosnt look slow or exposed,so i hope these two can play togetherv for a couple of seasons

onoura 6/10 his moments of concentration are very costly, perhaps with another 100 games under his belt he could replace hill at the back

taiwoo 6/10 im very disapointed in him

                          buzsacky 6/10 unbeleivabley in consistent

barton 6/10 got the skill but his temperment is suspect

derry 6/10 i love this geezer and hope he gets a new contract, hes got a lot of enthusiam and plays with his heart on his sleave
i wont give him 8 out of ten because he is limited to what he can do with the ball his skill level is very suspect but hes a real battler he could start a fight in a library

zamora 5/10 yes hes got great physicall presence and hes a run all day long man but i would replace him with yacuba because he wont ever score more that 9 goals a season
his strange decisions to keep getting in front of goal then turn around and pass it backwards are infuriating, and have cost us lots of points
years ago a club called forest sold sheringham and got relegated then another club sold les ferdinand and got relegated
the prem is all about scoring goals
if zamora wants to run around like a headless chicken then play him in midfield ,to play up front you need to be an iceman and put the ball in the net

Barton 8??!! 5 out of 10 for me.

He was awful until the Arsenal game- 7 games from the end of the season.
