reading back on this thread there are some very good points made about what defines world class and even tho i jumped in and said he was i have to say he is a top player (our best for years)but world class is banded around too lightly and he is not in the bracket of messi, ronaldo even shrek.

Cisse is not world class, but will score 20 plus goals for us if he stays on the pitch.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

          Errr no.

Raul is world class. Van Nistelrooy was world class. Van Persie is world class. David Villa is world class.

Big difference between those and Cisse - who is a good Premier League striker.

Soz to bring some reality to the debate.

Others would consider a number the best players in their leagues as world class. In that scenario I would say he would have to be considered world class.

Bear this in mind, his goals / game ratio is prob about 1 every 95 mins, which is incredible. Looking at the top leagues, ie Prem and la liga, I'm guessing the only players close to that are Messi, Ronaldo, RVP and Papisse Cisse.... That's some company to keep.

When you then take into account the fact he's playing for QPR, a relegation threatened team playing poorly more often tha not and creating very few chances in games, the fact he's scored so frequently is remarkable. On that basis I would say he is world class because if in a top side he would score for fun.

Either way, nobody can dispute he's been in world class clincal form regardless.
You're basing him on 8 games - look at his record at his last club.

RVP and Gomez are world class - they do it season after season.

Was Agyemang world class when he scored 7 in 5 when we first signed him?

No disputing he's a very good player for a team like us - but let's not exaggerate too much eh.

You're taking things out of context. Why bring up Agyemang who wasn't playing top flight football... pointless.

As i stated it's completely different based on varying interpretations. I also said he been in world class form, and that he could be considered a WC finisher but not WC player.

Either way stats never tell the whole story as every player has different situations and there's no leve playing field... Gomez plays for a top side in Germany and gets hatfuls of chances, same as RVP over here. Cisse has barely had any chances and still done exceptionally well.

Yes obvioiusly 8 games aren't a benchmark, just an indicator for current situations and he has shown world class form for our run in, without which we'd now be in the championship.

Anyway, as i say stats don't tell the whole story. Cisse has a better games / goal ratio than Rooney over his whole career.... does it make him the better player, no.

Agyemang brought up to show that when you base a player on such a short amount of games, anyone can look brilliant.

I'm not denying how good a player he is, and how lucky we are to have him - just don't like the way this board over-dramatises anything and everything - today alone there's threads on Zamora being the worst QPR striker ever and people claiming Cisse could play for any team outside the top 6 club teams in the world.

Best time to seriously judge him will be at the end of next season, if he's still with us of course.

Rest of your points are good - it is hard to judge 'class' because it comes down to opinion - I tend to give players an elongated period of time, before I judge them, unlike the mugs who booed Taarabt and the like last season.
