  • Ground Capacity /New Ground

Any news on the possibility of increasing LR capacity or having a new ground. With reasonable ticket prices, I guess we could attact 25,000. 18,000 capacity is pathetic for the PL. I do not mean we need tourists. Our support is great. Just imagine more capacity.

One point that seems overlooked: this Warren Farm site is massive. 67 acres I read. Hard to see even the most high tech training facilities taking up that kind of room. Cd there be a two phase development there - training ground first, then stadium?

Doubt it's possible to get much more from Loftus Road. I guess we'll see a new stadium announced within the next couple of years.

I heard there's plans for a Maracana replica to be built near Loftus Road, and to accomodate parking requiremnts we'll be levelling Stamford bridge and the surrounding area.

BTW I think tourists is exactly what we need. We need more capacity, more people through the turnstile, more revenue. New fans have to start sometime.

i agree. as much as i love our club as it is, and the tight ground and the loyal support, added revenue and profile is something which certainly factors into tony's plans moving forward. in fact i can't see us pushing on and becoming a credible force without it.

Have to realize, change is inevitable, cannot rely on local support anymore, as it changed with plavers who are now multinational have to reach out to all and sundry, may not be for the best but that's the way it will be.

Agree, thats why location is imperitive and there is none better than W12. What better than the old man watching the r's while the missus spends all the spondooley at Westfields. Got a feeling housing will be a major factor in Rangers successful application for Warren Farm

I'm quite happy to stay at LR for a good few years... i would love it if there was a way to get rid of the poles that block the view while we're waiting but that not gonna happen

access to that warren farm site would be impossible for a stadium.

shame there was an opportunity to buy the land vacated when ellerslie school closed, could have built a massive stand there, unfortunately we did'nt have Tony Fernandez

Even the half time entertainment involves running around one. Crazy.

If you see what other clubs have, large dressing rooms, gym, medical rooms as opposed to the (cupboard) at Harlington you would not say that. Add to that all weather training facilities, enough pitches for all the teams; and then separate arrangements for community football teams and finished off with car parking arrangements bobs your uncle or in this case 67 acres.

Yousef, Loftus Road is very very dated and old fashioned, and worse of all it has no facilities for parking, no hotel, no shops/club and the actual gound cannot really be used for anything else other than 18? home games a year.

To sum it up we need a brand new stadium with good facilites where it can make some money through other venues. Expanding Loftus road as it is isn't worth it in my opinion as its still the worst stadiums sadly.

We are in fact a growing football club as I noticed recently when I have gone to the odd home game is that we are creating new fans, when I spoke to a couple of them they only just started to watch QPR from last season because of our Premiership status plus as TF mentioned we are in a great catchment area so new fans are coming.
We are an expanding football club which is a great thing for QPR.
