Bottom line is (love him or hate him and I personally dont think he adds that much to the team, regardless of his behaviour) he will be out for a long time next season. I can't see how he will get back in the team........no one else will wnat him. We are stuck with him.

I guess that makes me a 'nancy-boy' though eh?
you never cheat the tax man? never cheat the government? never speed on a motorway? never cheated on a girlfriend or wife/partner? never cheated at golf/cards/tiddlywinks ?
i see cheating in EVERY football game that i watch so why get all high and mighty when one of our players dives or tries to get a player sent off to give us an advantage? madness

So the story goes as follows... He was sent off, couldn't handle the 'injustice' of it all, the moralizing of the City players, the fact that we were gonna get relegated on another bad decision, and that he would be blamed, and that he couldn't do any thing again in the match to stop us getting relegated ... and he then lashed out, tried to get a reaction off of the City players to get one of them sent off to even up the match...
Even when this had failed, the team were so pumped up after the sending off, after Joey's aggression and defiance, after another bad decision, that they really uped their game...
Fact is our surivial in the Premier League was on the line. Its not time for moralizing on what is right or wrong. we need to do what we can to stay in the league... Barton being sent off was his fault but his reaction galvanised and drove the rest of the team on to put in an astonishing display... In many respects Joey Barton was selfless in his actions and led from the front like a true captain (albeit in peculiar circumstances)...
The media hate him, the FA hate him, most of the country hates him but me, I love him, cos he put himself on the line for QPR in no-win situation and somehow got a positivie out of it in us playing better again...
... We'd be gob s h i t e s to sell him... and Mark Hughes and Tony Fernandes are not that... Joey will stay!

I don't like cheats and thugs. Barton is both. He's also a terrible captain, and a mediocre Premiership midfielder.
We can do without him. Whether anyone would take him is another thing?

I applaud him and i have no doubt we will see him captaining us next season. Well done Joey
I disagree very strongly.

Here's an idea. Why don't we set an example for the rest of football? If a player handballs but it's not spotted, we should own up, even if we've just scored. If one of our players is late on a tackle, we should ask the ref to stop the game and award a free kick to the opposition. We should never tug an opponent's shirt. We should never deliberately time waste. Our players should always try to stay on their feet, rather than go down under a challenge. Under no circumstances should we ever con the officials or the opposition, even if it means we lose the game. If our opponents cheat in any way, we should just accept the decision of the officials at all times. If one of our players is booked or sent off, his punishment should be doubled by the club as a sign we do not condone any form of cheating. If it is found one of our players broke the rules during a game, the club should report him to the FA for punishment.
Happy now?Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

To those who are happy to criticise Barton and are expressing outrage, consider this scenario:
The last game of the season is at Chelsea.
QPR fan DJ Campbell, (not that trouble maker from Liverpool), is whacked round the head by the highly respected former England captain, Mr John Terry. Campbell not being impressed, remonstrates with JT who then responds with hateful racist comments towards young DJ. In the heat of the moment he gives Terry a right hander. Furious as to the support JT is getting from his Chelsea team mates, some of whom are attempting to wind him up even further, DJ knees Aslhey Cole in the nuts and all hell breaks loose.
Would you all be screaming for him to be shown the door?
I suspect that some may not.

He was a pu ucking disgrace yesterday and his antics after the he was shown red were an embarrassment to our club and it bordered on thuggery !!
Here we are trying to turn into a global brand with worldwide exposure trying to attract the next generation of R's and we have this low life as our leader !!
Whats the point of starting the season with 24 players who can play plus one that is out for the first 2/ 3 months !!!!!
AND IN ALL HONESTY ... As much as I have supported him throughout the season..... If we are looking to push on to the next level ...then there is a helluva lot better out there than Joey Barton and you wont get all the baggage that goes with him !!!!
With Ali back next year , Diakite likely to sign , Traore , Tarbs (maybe) ,Jamie and I would guess a couple of new midfielders coming in anyway ...How would someone as average as Barton fit in .
I would feel a lot happier if he was simply taken out of the equation at our wonderful club and we can plan for next season and our bright future without Joey Bartons name popping up every 10 minutes !!

I'm not suggesting that football will ever become squeaky clean, but surely it's not wrong to hope we might be a little more respectable than other teams is it?
And what Joey did was so far beyond the 'usual' gamesmanship, it's almost laughable that some on here are so blinkered that they think it's not only acceptable, but something that should be encouraged?
I accept I'm not in tune with a large number of vocal posters on here on a lot of subjects, but I'm genuinely surprised at the way the general tone is weighted on this one.
I'm not alone obviously, and of course not everyone supporting Joey is throwing around school yard insults like some.
Be dull if we agreed on everything anythingLast edited by DeepcutHoop; 15-05-2012, 02:15 PM.

Personally though, I feel that getting rid of him for reacting to what he suffered, is well over the top.
I would be much happier if the authorities stopped the cheating and fouling that cause such inflamatory incidents to happen. Instead, they watch a video, clearly showing that Barton has done nothing wrong against Norwich, and increase his ban. Great.
