Getting a red for a moody challenge in the heat of the moment is one thing but what Barton did was calculated. He knew what he was doing. There were moments between Tevez hitting him and his elbow. Seriously can't understand why people would want him anywhere near the side next season. Thanks for your input this season Joey, now you can politely move on.
He did i agree. Footballs a mans game and i think some of you nancy boys ought to toddle off and watch Cricket or netball or something
I am struggling to agree with this heros status that some are trying to give to barton.
his actions on sunday are completely and utterly inexcusable and had it led to us being relegated then i am sure most on here would be hanging effigies of him from there front doors like beckham!.
for the second time this season a reaction by one of our players to a violent act committed by the other team has resulted in us being punished. had barton gone down under the assault by tevez it would have been a completely different situation with city down to 10 men!
i really don't care if he plays for us again..he is costing us money and points.
next season a midfield of diakite and faurlin will do for me
IT DIDNT RELEGATE US!! Even if we did get relegated, it would be because over 38 games we werent good enough, not because Barton got sent off.
Ok, we've done the Barton thing to death, how about we start on Cisse now and his sendings off in a short space of time? Let's chuck him out along with Barton shall we?

what part appalled you? the foul on Tevez? or the afters on Aguero?
THe foul on Tevez wasn't clever or worthy of a captain, but Joey wouldn't be the first or last to get done retaliating, when the original perpetrator gets away with it. If he'd walked off the pitch there, I'd have not been happy with him, but it happens.
The calculated attempt to either injure (or at least give a dead leg to) Aguero, and to headbutt Kompany etc was either mindless thuggery, or trying to get an opposition player sent off at the same time, which I would class as flat out cheating at worst.

Yes, cheating is a terrible thing isn't it?
Of course we've never been victims of cheating opponents have we?
Ashley Young anyone?

We were desperate. Cheating is part of the game. Look at Tevez. As if an elbow like that would make you wince in agony for 10 seconds then be completely fine afterwards. The whole game is full of cheats. Credit to barton for not rolling around like a ponce after being hit by tevez.
Why should we be less appalled by our own players cheating?
Well, unless the FA get to grips with cheats, you have to play them at their own game. I think you'll find Joey was prepared to take a whack to get one of theirs sent off. He'd already taken one from Tevez. We got a player sent off, but not one of theirs got into trouble.
We really have to stop this PC nonsense and get as nasty as the rest. All this family club stuff is cobblers along with this marquis of queenberry charade. I'm fed up with us getting mugged off all the time.

the elbow he swung at Tevez was in retaliation and the Argie made the most of it. The afters on Aguero was to either try to injure him or make him retaliate so he would get sent off too...a brilliant idea! and i applaud Joey for it. Just a shame it didnt work because Aguero went on to score the winner which COULD have sent us down. Flat out cheating is fine with me..its been going on in football in all the years i have been watching it (dont you remember Rodneys dives?). As for the thuggery that you call it i suppose in a country where you cant chant things in case it upsets peoples feelings then yes i suppose you would call that thuggery. Back your captain! just like the **** are backing their captain.

I can't believe I'm having to actually argue that cheating is wrong and a bad idea.
And also thuggery doesn't just hurt peoples feelings. It certainly isn't something we should be lauding as heroic.
No one is saying cheating isn't wrong, of course it is, but sometimes you have to put your principles to one side and play these sods at their own game.
