    It was the wrong time

    in the wrong place

    at the wrong moment

luckily it didnt cost us which is no thanks to joey , but when you are on a short fuse and other players know it wait until the end of the game and give em a clump in the tunnel

The Ch@nt tevez got what he wanted..... should never have given him the pleasure ,

but all said i can relate to what happened with a sly ####@r nipping away at you , some times the red mist desends but thats not an excuse for actions that could have cost us our PL place ,

would i keep him in the squad, no doubt about it........................

That Balotelli is a right knobhead, and no mistake.

derry or barton, both show passion in different ways, derry can be cynical when he wants, barton is a different kettle of fish, wouldn't class him as a coward when tevez had the 1st dig, as you say all about opinions, shame yours is the wrong one

For the people that are having a go at Joey.....

          Put yourself in his situation!

You get punched then kicked, i'd find it hard not to react as would most people. It's funny how Joey always gets dug out because of his 'past'. He's been sent off twice this season, both for his reputation! There is no way on this earth the lino could have seen what happened, he's guessed. If Joey went down like a girl (Tevez) would Tevez have been sent off? Nah!

What happened afterwards is getting slammed by people, if it's true and he did try and get a City player to react and sent off it would have took cleverness to a new level.

Personally i love him, he wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn't shy away from anything and every time i see the incident i find myself saying 'go on Joey lad'.

I'm still in shock Tevez has somehow been interpreted as the victim? Sums up the powers that be i suppose!

I can't get my head around all the support Barton is getting on here. Now I'm not one of these calling for him to be sold but I certainly don't feel he is a suitable captain for our club.

Having watched yesterday's incident a couple of times and there is certainly nothing there that has me saying "go on Joey lad". What I saw was a dreadful example being set by someone who is old enough to know better!

It's not a case of it being soft or not Quaz, it's being smart enough not to get involved. Just think what we could have acheived this season if we had kept 11 men on the pitch every week!

It's all about opinions. I love joey myself. I love how so many people hate him and against him. It's like our club this season, so many people wanted us to go down and don't like us. We thrived on that and kept our premier league status. Wether you like him or not hes such a character.

if's and buts mate, what would we have achieved if the club had been taken over before the season start...........red cards are part and parcel, i like passionate players, hate the ones who bottle it.
Remember once a certain mr beckham purposely commiting a foul to get carded so he served a ban while injured, still not very spotsman like, but soon forgotten.

We might have avoided relegation, oh yeah, we did! You can make an argument that we would have been clear of the relegration scrap I suppose but it's all hypothetical because we don't really know what would have happened! For example I'm pretty sure we would have still lost at Old Trafford and I'm pretty sure we would have got results vs Wolves and Norwich! We wouldn't have been pushing for a Europa League spot!

We're not talking about the odd card Quaz........9 in 38 games, that is a ridiculous number. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think we also lost every game that we picked up red cards in, some of them from winning positions. I reckon with better discipline we could have been mid table.

so who is to blame, because if i recall most of those 9 red cards were the new players, or i maybe wrong, cisse, barton, AM, dikete, thats 6 there.
So not just about joey barton.

And as we all know, bartons 1st was NOT a sending off.

Totally missing my point mate. Barton's first red wasn't a red, the one yesterday probably wasn't either but he just brings it on himself doesn't he? Winds up players, refs, opposition managers and fans......you just know as soon as they get an opportunity to stitch him they will.

Cisse as well, 2 stupid red cards, we need to be smarter in the future!

not missing your point at all mate, if you were smacked from behind in a pub would you react, it's in us all at some time or other, just was in front of a crowd.
I don't condone losing his head, but i hate cheating tw@ts like tevez, he walked away scott free, they were scared of losing the title so went for the one player they knew would react.

Question for you, would you ever have wanted roy keane or paul scholes in your side?

Different propositions altogether there mate. Scholes' displinary record is nowhere near as bad as Bartons and all his reds were for mistimed tackles not petulance. Keane was a hard, horrible b*stard but he wasn't petulant like Barton.

Also both players you mentioned there significantly better than Joey Barton.
