  • If Barton wasn't sent off - what would the score have been?

Personally I think the sending off fueled the game into the epic it was. The direct substitution after Barton's red card created our 2nd goal, so would we have scored a 2nd with Barton still on? (I have my doubts.)

Our winning 2-1 position would have filtered through to the Bolton players which would have dejected them into thinking they were down regardless. So hypothetically Barton's sending may have kept us up

We would have lost for sure. Might not have got the second goal though. The sending off seemed to galvanise us.

Disagree sorry, thought City looked like they were running out of ideas and looked like they didn't believe they could brake us down, it was the subs he made and qpr being one man down that stuffed us.

No one will ever know. He could have given away a penalty, we could have attacked more.... we could have lost by 4 or more. Or won.

          Waste of time guessing.

We'll never know, you can look at it in many ways, there wouldn't have been so much injury time (so not enough to score those two goals needed) but then again as stated above it did fuel the game and i feel gave us more incentive to want to succeed even with 10 men so you could say it helped us get that second goal. MH would not have had to make any substitutions or change the formation so Traore may not have got down that wing or even been on the pitch to make the cross for Mackie.
Finally though, without that goal of ours, not so much pressure would have been on City (only needing 1 goal at that time.
So, who knows, maybe we do have him to thank in a roundabout way?
