  • Exclusive – Gray claims QPR will ditch Barton after antics against Man City

Andy Gray believes Joey Bartons’s QPR career is finished after the midfielder stopped to a new low on Sunday.

With his side fighting for Premier League survival, Barton was sent off for elbowing Carlos Tevez before kneeing Sergio Aguero and then attempting to headbutt Vincent Kompany as he made his way from the pitch.

One question to Andy Gray: who else will take on his four year contract at £75,000 a week?

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Very true, can't see many takers for him I'm afraid.

Out of interest Stainrod, what do you think the future holds for JB?

I give Grays opinions as much credence as I do David Plunkett's on the merits of art!

Your guess prob as good as mine mate but unless QPR lawyers cd argue he has brought the club into disrepute to such an extent that they cd cancel the contract, I can't see anyone taking on the liability for a contract worth about £15m - and that's assuming we release him on a "free". My view is he will stay but by the time his ban is up he will be behind Diakite, Faurlin and possibly AN Other (O'Hara? Krancjar? Pinnear?) in the midfield queue. Can't see him remaining captian, however.

just read it, funny how lineker has gone all silent after kicking the hornets nest once JB said he could expose some of the skeletons in linekers closet!

Disappointed in Barton,he left the club down again and wouldn't surprise me one bit if Hughes sacks him for gross misconduct
