What i think is the best formation...

Defensive, but with Taiwo and onuha to break forward with diakite.
Obviously we will need them to work extremely hard.

What are your opinions? Would you go for a different option?

4-4-1-1, with Traore on the left to help out defensively (Taarabt won't do too good a job of tracking back and helping Taiwo close down Silva will he).

I'd actually start without Cisse, just keep clearing it out to Zamora to hold it up for Taarabt who can slow down play and do his skills and all that and wait for the wingers to get either side of him so he can create play. But everytime City have the ball let everyone get back and keep Tarbs and Zamora up there.

IF we can keep it at 0-0 till around the 60th minute, bring on Cisse for Taarabt or Traore (depending on who's playing better, or whos more tired etc) and play for the winner.

That also is a very good option, i will defiantly want cisse starting as we want to contain them while also having a goal threat. Dropping Taarabt is also a good move as he plays poor away.

I really like that idea, would even think about Ferdinand as almost a sweeper behind Young and Hill, pace at full back, steel in mid field, swap Zamora for Tarbs and 2 opportunists up front

I wouldn't play Taarabt or Zamora. Adel just doesn't do it away from home and gives the ball away in dangerous positions, although he has improved immensely at it. Bobby has been a big disappointment in my eyes, i didn't expect him to score goals but i thought his hold up play was class at Fulham, unfortunately we're yet to see that apart from the odd game. He's worked hard though and will come good.

Traore will be a better option that Adel, simply because of his defending and ability to break at pace and get 60 yards up the pitch with one run. Cisse for his pace, we've been playing a lot into Bobby but got nobody near him so we eventually give it straight back. My idea with Cisse up front is to play long balls into the channels and let Cisse run in behind to win the ball or throw ins deep inside City's half and give our defence a breather. City play with basically two centre halfs at the back, leaving the wide areas open for this to work, Lescott and Kompany won't enjoy this tactic either. Cisse will have to work harder than he has before in his life!

I wouldnt try a new formation in our most important game that we havnt tried all season. Would be suicicde in my opinion.
