  • Would you swap places with Bolton?

We're all very apprehensive about what could happen on Sunday, but I think some of us are stuck in a negative rut.
Would anybody feel more confident in Bolton's position? Two points behind, needing to win at Stoke to survive, knowing that even if they do get an unlikely victory,a point for their rivals would mean that no matter how big a win they got they were going down?
I'll stick where I am, thank you very much.

No wouldn't swap BUT it all comes down to how seriously Stoke take this game

I think they'll take it very seriously. Last home gamefor the fans, and they really wouldn't want their ground to be a celebration venue for Bolton.

No, not with our away record

no because we're away from home. Wouldn't fancy us to beat wolves away.

            VERY good question Terry.

With our Away form ? Last Win in November (at Stoke !) and only a draw at Villa since ? Doesn't bode well for 3 points whether it's at Man City or Stoke.

Bolton, however, are more familiar with getting 3 points on the road - Villa again, 2 weeks ago.

No I wouldn't swap with them, but more for our Away form than any hope that they too would be crushed at the Etihad.

                No way would I swap.

11 v 11 on the pitch, we could get that point.

This thread from the oatcake should at least fire up a lot of the Stoke fans though. Some cracking responses though. Quite a good sense of humour those guys on there.

Should be you in our position. You play a form of rugby, not football and there's no place for it in the Premier League. Hate your club, fans and manager and even if we go down would rather watch us

bolton were in the box seat "run-in" wise...two games in hand...
                    Fulham - H - 0-3
                    Newcastle - A - 0-2
                    Swansea - H - 1-1
                    Villa - A - 2-1
                    Sunderland - A - 2-2
                    Spurs - H - 1-4
                    WBA - D - 2-2

They are cracking. I do not see them in good form at Stoke and believe we will stay up by 2pts.

                    Good question though.

Man City away is as close to unwinnable as it gets. On the flipside we don't have to win or even draw to stay up as long as they don't win and Stoke aren't easy beats. I'd say our chances of staying up are about 60/40, so I guess I wouldn't swap places although that's subject to change by dinner time on Sunday.

Bolton have more chance of winning this game then we have to drawing ours.

That's what worries me and we'll have to go out on the day to get something.

Yes true, but also, them winning their match away to Stoke is still less likely than them losing or drawing.

I'm definitely not trying to imply that we have nothing to worry about or that we are in any way safe, my intention was to stand back a little and compare our respective prospects.
Man C have a fantastic home record, winning every game bar their draw against Sunderland. Who would have given Sunderland a hope in hell of being 3-1 up in that game? No one in their right mind.
When Arsenal came to LR they were on a 7 game winning streak. We beat them convincingly. Our away form, as we all know, has been atrocious; that streak has to end sometime too. I think the stage is set for our lousy away run and City's brilliant home form to change next Sunday.
