  • So which players did we say goodbye to yesterday at Loftus Rd yesterday....

Some of them on that lap of honour will leave us in the summer.

    Hall?
    Kenny?
    Buz?
    Derry?
    Hill?

We know Agymang and Vine will leave.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Hope not Hill. He's really proved himself in the last couple of months. Maybe won't be a starter next season, but worth another year, and a place in the 25.

Kenny looked v flat when he trudged round in the lap of honour. Must have been told he has no future (bad tactical move imo and might explain his poor form).

buz just wafted around during the match and showed he isn't up to it. its not american football. you cant carry someone just because they are a dead ball specialist. v sad tho it is.

hill has been immense and worth a place in the 25 imo, tho a big brute of a top centre half is number one priority for the close seeason.

derry to palace i reckon. we need better options in midfield if we stay up - pinnear, krankjar, or o'hara.

not sure about swp or mackie.

zamora i half wonder about - looked so disintersted you wondered if his agent has been hitting the phones trying to find him yet another club.

difficult one... think there will be a bit of turnover during the summer - i'm wondering how many of neil's lot would be happy to share a club with diouf if he does sign to leeds.

if we stay up, i think it's going to be a long list of players that are offered around, let go etc (although lots of them might be kept on if we go down):

          definites:
          vine
          agyemang
          connolly
          ramage

          probables:
          helguson
          hulse
          buz
          derry
          smith
          hall
          gabbidon
          cerny

          maybes:
          kenny
          wright-phillips
          young
          hill

Hill has been one of the best players last few months, I'd like him to stay.

If we went down I'd like to keep Ramage.

If Kenny leaves, who comes in?

Anyone know which players are out of contract? Ramage, Gabbidon, Aygemang, Perone, Borrowdale, Shittu, Vine? Campbell and Bothroyd have contracts that run until the end of next season but if we end up in the Championship that could be good fortune.

I wouldn't want to keep Derry or Kenny. No room for romantic sentimentalism - they are players that will mean you will be in a relegation fight as they are Championship, or bottom 4PL club standard.

Buz has been a let down too.

If we stay up I would keep Hill, Derry and Kenny as back ups, remember we need a team and these players have experience. I definately give them another year as squad players.

2012 Out of contract – CERNY, GABBIDON, DYER, HILL, BUZSAKY, HALL, PERONE, DYER, DOUGHTY, PUTNINS, RAMAGE, SHITTU, EPHRAIM, AGYEMANG, BORROWDALE, COOK, VINE, BALANTA, HARRIMAN.

Much will depend of where we are (and more importantly if we have a restriction of 25 squad players), but I'd expect MOST of those above to go.
Possibly exception of Hill, Buzz & Hogan at a stretch.

Equally importantly would be to NOT bring in another 18 players like this year.
Too much change has cost us, for whatever reason, Tango & Cash, Manager changes, just bring in 2 or 3 quality players to enhance what we already have.
