The crucial issue is that if Blackburn win then it drags Wigan into the mix, then if we lose to MC, two other results have to go against us on the final day and we're not only relying on the one option of Stoke getting something v Bolton, coz Wigan also have to get a point.
Blackburn v Wigan, to summarise. If......
a) Wigan win. - Blackburn are relegated, and Wigan are safe on 40 pts. Its now a straight fight between us and Bolton. if Bolton win and we lose to MC we're down, so we need a point to make sure. If Bolton draw or lose, our result v MC doesn't matter.
b) Blackburn/Wigan draw. - Blackburn are still relegated, but Wigan are safe on 38 points. So options are just the same as (a)
c) Blackburn win. - This would mean 2 relegation spots remain between 4 teams. So on the final day,
Blackburn have to win at Chelsea, and we need to lose by 4. V unlikely to happen
Bolton have to win away to Stoke.
Wigan need a point v Wolves.
We need a point at MC, but if Wigan or Bolton fail, we don't need that point.
