for me it was against arsenal in 72 i think and we won two nil....my dad(fulham fan for his sins) knew 'gerry' on the gate at the school end who was a member of the acton vale club like dad and let most of the club in for 'a pint' on match days.... halcyon days indeed....the sloping open to the elements away end...the smell of cjd free beefburgers n onions....marching bands before the game....'rangers rangers we are the best; the pre match song.....'goochie' stumbling up n down the terrace suited n eating chips....the 'peanuts peanuts roasted peanuts' man.....ah those really were the days my friiends!!

Ah the memories - what about half time scores back in the good old days.
There would be matches listed from A to Z at the back of the programme, and at the break this guy used to put each letter and score up individually. For example, ‘A’ might be Arsenal against Portsmouth, so he’d put up the number one, followed by a zero and so on for each match – it was all done in slow motion, but that would be the first we knew of the other scores.
It will sound really dull to the youngsters of today but to us, that was proper exciting :drunk:

My first ever game was home v Leeds in league cup 1978, we lost 2-0. My mums boyfriend (who I hated) used to take me in the school end with the away fans. I still fell in love with the R's there and then.

Handing the ball to Tony Roberts when I was just 6 in my first game. He tapped me on the head and said "thanks mate."

I was in infant school, and i was browsing through a friends premier league stickerbook when i was confronted by a picture of Iain Dowie in his Southampton kit.Not wanting to faint,i quickly turned back a few pages and landed on the QPR team, where i decided from that point i would support them, partly due to the hoops, but mostly because they rescued me from Dowie's face...if only for a few years

1952 at home to Colchester.Yes 60 years ago.As an 8 year old,I was in the boys section behind the goal in the Loftus Rd end.During the pre-match kick about on a cold winters afternoon,I was hit in the face by the ball and tended to by the St.Johns Ambulance people.I got to meet the players after the match and from that point on fell in love with everything QPR and been going to the R's ever since.Held a season ticket for 50 of those 60 years,45 of which were bang in the middle of the Sth Africa Rd stand. That is why I was so upset by the Ecclestone/Briatore regime who put my ST up from £284 to £3,525 and was forced to move.Bar stewards!!!!!!

                      well

back in 58 my dad like many dads was getting his ears chewed off,by my mum
                      and so hatched a plan
MAYBE DARLING I CAN GET ONE OF THE CHILDREN FROM UNDER YOUR FEET
me then aged 4 was the kid who dad was thinking of
OF COURSE HIS PLAN WAS TO GO TO THE PUB ON THE WAY HOME
                      so of we go
I COULDNT REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS GOING ON
but i seem to remember it was newport county, and they played with these irradescent gold coloured jerseys on
I LOVED THE BEAUTIFULL GREEN PITCH,I LOVED THE EXITEMENT,THE EUTHORA
everyone was so exited, and i loved it
THEN WE DID WHAT WE WERE GOING TO DO MANY TIMES AFTER WE WENT TO THE GENERAL SMUTS CAR PARK,AND DAD LOCKED ME INSIDE THE CAR,THEN CAME OUT WITH LEMONADES AND CRISPS
as a little boy i always dreamed of owning a qpr shirt but back in those days, knowbody seemed to be able to afford such luxery
BUT JUST LIKE FACTOMONDO I WAS HOPELESSLY HOOKED

Started in 69 as well, but i've missed about a game a season at home.

About the only thing that is defintely better today are the playing surfaces.

I loved standing on the Loft in the 70's, you were never quite sure what was going to happen, wonderful days.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

That's a good point Mark! He's now given me years of suffering, but I wouldn't change it for the world. My mums boyfriend by the way had no interest in football whatsoever, he was a London Irish rugby fanatic, he even used to play for them. I remember being dragged along to watch that pile of sheeite every other Saturday, and he used to take me to the odd QPR evening fixture.
Another memory that stands out is when I was at Junior school, I seriously gave it to a Hammer fan who was one of my best mates when we spanked them 6-1 in an FA Cup replay, I didn't go to that game.
