  • Should England ban the Euros?

    Hello everyone.

I very rarely post on this board but am an avid reader and enjoy the discussions and banter that take place here.

I know this isnt QPR related but I would really like to hear your views on whether or not we should pull out of the Euros in suport of the way the former Ukrainain PM Yulia Tymoshenko is currently being treated. So obviously a set up to get rid of her and now she's being physically abused.

I think they should for 3 reasons

    1. Given our abysmal track record of embarrasing, toothless, souless attempts at restoring national pride Im hardly looking forward to this years event
    2. Given the ridiculous amounts of money both countries seem to be charging the average fan to go out there and watch our national flops seems another good reason to pull the plug
    3. I reckon she's still quite fit for a 50 year old and reckon she must have been a cracker in her day. Thats good enough for me to make a stand for human rights and social equality and all that.

Very few posts seem to get away without a rinsing of some sort, so starting a thread on football and politics, Im expecting the worst.

ps Lets hope its a wonderful weekend that has us all smiling the length of the Uxbridge Road

we'll do well in the group stage, cue the media portraying us as world beaters. then therell be a pointless red card, a disallowed goal and we'll go out on penalties. A hint of de ja vu and a few parallels with qpr come to think of it

I am not buying into that, she is a major criminal and just trying to wiggle her way out of prison because she is supposed to be oh so special. I say to hell with her and let's play ball.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

I see Estonia aren't taking part. Obviously due to a political protest!

keep politics out of football or we wouldn't play against or in loads of countries.

As for pulling out - don't be daft. Yes, it is a terrible choice (IMHO) to host tourny in 2 countries and Ukraine is a poor choice - as are most Eastern Bloc countries.

But it's a tournament and I will love watching every match.

Can't wait for the really boring club before country brigade to jump on to try and prove they are a better QPR supporter than those that actually want their country to do well too.

                      I appreciate the comments
Kirill, its a bit rich when someone from Ukraine is labelled a criminal. Eastern europe's awash with corruption and Putin's nothing more than the Godfather himself. That whole place is rotten from the top down.
Football wise its a good oportunity to make a stand. Besides this is England - we re europes finest. Honest, polite, play by the rules, fish and chips, day trips to Margate, only started diving cause we kept getting cheated out of world cups etc
I feel sorry for people that have paid but being true to our English heritage surely the FA will cough up a refund and the governemt reimburse travel costs etc
