    Yes it is a risk but;
    firstly Delph is a teenager and can improve substantially with the right coaching.
    secondly, Villa have the luxury of the Premier League millions, QPR FC doesn't.

    The owners are rich, but the club is not and doesn't get anywhere near a capacity - small as the stadium it is - crowd.

      I understand that but this is a club who have spent money on the likes of Parejo, Ledesma, Tommassi, De Carmine. Add the likes of Alberti and Borrowdale who will struggle to make many appearances and you have plenty of money spent on bit part or nothing type players. If you add the money saved on realising Cole and Crowther and add it to the fees for Blackstock, Delaney and Camp and we've never been short wasting money so £2.5m is hardly a risk when the club are prepared to spend money on team.

        I cant believe 12 people have said no. I assume you all want a new striker who could score the goals that get us up? Out of interest, can any of these 12 people let me know who they think we should sign and how much you think he would cost?

              Perhaps Beckford might have a problem stepping up a div . Just like Fitz Hall has droping down a div
              Football played the Charlie Ferris way

                      Strikers always sell for a higher price than most other positions because they are the ones who get the goals to win matches. So yes.

                          He may score freely in League 1, so did Trundle, Billy Sharp, Izale McLeod (I recall some fans on here wanted QPR to buy him from MK Dons). Nathan Tyson, Nicky Maynard are two others who haven't quite repeated their lower league form in the CCC.

                          Maybe Beckford is another Steve Bull or Rob Earnshaw i.e. a forward who could score in any league level outside of the Prem League (and given a proper chance perhaps could at that level too), but it is a gamble.

                          He is out of contract next summer, and QPR should be able to negotiate a better deal with a lump sum and add-ons based on his success. Maybe even a sell-on fee.
                          problem is if we wont spend it,someone else will and we will lose out,but either way our owners wouldnt spend £2.5 million on anyone,so wont happen.
