  • Young Player of the Year

We've already got a POTY one, so I thought I'd start this one.

    So the shortlist is:

    Bruno Andrade
    Matt Connolly
    Samba Diakite
    Hogan Ephraim
    Michael Harriman
    Adel Taarabt
    Armand Traore

For me, it comes down to 2: Traore and Diakite.
Andrade, Connolly, Ephraim and Harriman haven't featured so surely can't be considered.
Taarabt has only played well since Hughes came in IMO.
Traore has been sharp and played well most of the season and has proven to be a great signing, but Samba has been simply awesome since he arrived (apart from his sending off).
So for me, it's Samba Diakite.

Adel for me. Samba is a better player, I agree, he is mustard, but he hasnt played much of a part really. Think the shifs Adel has put in all season and the way he has matured as a player and improved his all round game deserve some credit.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Samba's class but he's only played about 10 games.

We're not really flush with bright young players. Would probably go with Traore, although considering how long he's been around the top flight I wouldnt exactly class him as a youngster.

traore for me. had one maybe two dodgy games at the back but for the most part has looked class and great going forward. one of the few warnock signings this season who has been an unqualified success and imo, injury aside, unlucky not to get more game times under hughes. deserves it alone for that last ditch tackle he did after running across the pitch and getting his body in the way that got him the injury and stopped a v likely goal. diakite, if he stays, cd become a massive player for us but still more about potential with him - that sending off arguably cost us big time.

If he still qualifies then i'd go with Traore for sure. He had a lot of doubters when he came, glad to say i wasn't one of them and he's been excellent in almost every game he's played. Looked tight at the back when needed in games such as Arsenal away facing Walcott, always makes himself available for the ball and comfortable with it and always a threat going forward and arguably our best crosser, from which he has a couple of assists.

He is one who will only get better with age also.

SWP for me. He's gonna be some player when he grows up.

              Sorry.

(note to self, must try harder)

Diakite, what a gem that guy is & boy did we miss him on Sunday
                  Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                  And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Traore even came on at 6-0 down and made things happen been very unlucky to lose his place imo, been highly consistent in all games he's been involved in.
