Although I do not dispute that they're in a far stronger position than we are, I don't think the Latics are safe and disagree with the notion that it is solely between us and Bolton. Wigan's next game is Blackburn (away). If Blackburn do not win this then their relegation is likely to be confirmed. I know they were awful against Spurs, but I can see Rovers scraping a victory. They have a few talented attacking players who are capable of scoring goals.

Everybody has been saying that Wolves at home is an easy fixture. After watching them fight back against Swansea I'm not so convinced. Wolves have nothing to lose and in my opinion will want to have a say in who goes down with them. I've just got a feeling that they will be very tough to beat at the DW. Wigan have a habit of being excellent against the top teams and utter rubbish against everyone else.

That said, if Bolton win tomorrow I feel that it will deal a huge psychological blow to our players ahead of Sunday's crucial match against Stoke. We still need a Spurs victory.

Good points made there. Really hope you're right!

Agree about Wolves, theyve got othing to play for now, no pressure, and alot of their players may well be trying to impress for a summer move.

    Here's hoping!
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Agree with what you say, but the big thing that changed over the weekend was a ninie goal swing in the goal difference to them. We no longer can rely on that to finish above them.

Let me tell you this; Wigan won't fail, they are bursting with confidence at the moment due to their positive approach on games.
They were very unlucky to lose against Fulham and Chelsea.
They deserve to be in the PL, very bold and brave to play against the big teams with three defenders.
There is something as making your own luck.
We on the other hand have chosen to take a damage control tactic in away games, hoping for a point.
And now as a result our confidence is shot.

Best chance for us to stay up is Bolton to f*uck up big time.

Disagree. The danger comes when you think you’ve done enough…..look at Blackburn and to a certain extent Bolton. It looked a month or so back that they were both safe after a good run.
Blackburn will throw kitchen sink at them and fancy them winning more than us beating Stoke or Spurs beating Bolton to be honest. That leaves Wigan with nerve wracking wolves game…..a defeat and that’s curtains

Couldn't agree more, our survival rests on what Bolton do. They have 3 games to get 4 points.

Wigan will be fine, Villa will scrape it by 1 or 2 points.

Know where you heading at James, but the difference here is that Blackburn thought they were save with still 6 games to play.
Wigan somehow won't make that mistake and even will finish above Villa.

Wigan were not very unlucky against Fulham, they lost 2-1 and Fulham also hit the woodwork twice. Chelsea they were unlucky yes, but not Fulham.

They are not safe yet by any stretch. It is very possible Blackburn could beat them at Ewood park, especially as everyone will say "Wigan will win", same as they said against Fulham.

If that happens, and we beat Stoke (which if we don't we're down, so have to, to have any hope) then we'll go above them on GD again. They will then be just as nervy as us and Bolton / Blackburn going into the last match. Yes they should beat wolves on current form, but as said Wolves can play with no fear and will want a win, against a nervous Wigan.... anything could happen.

Lets also not assume the fixtures will go without controversial incidents... .there could be goals disallowed wrongly for offside, dodgy penalties, bad red cards etc etc etc.. any of which could be game changers as we know only too well.

What we must hope is that Spurs beat bolton which puts it in our hands against stoke to go into the final match outside the relegation zone. Whoever is in the zone before the final game will have added pressure knowing they need to get something or its curtains, whereas anyone outside the zone could still lose and survive......

Very true. There will be some players who won't have been busting their gut for Wolves i'm sure, and they among others may well think they are better than they think and in their mind be thinking "i'm not playing in the championship".

Their best get out as you say is to get a transfer and they will want to try and impress on the last day to get someone's attention.
