  • Joey Barton Changing Ends Before KO

Always disappointing to see us shoot towards the Loft first half but what a masterstroke by the skipper to have Brad Friedel facing the glaring sun in the first half.

No doubt it helped Adel bury that peach in the bottom corner

    Great decision .

Right at the end of the game on ESPN they showed Friedel's view on the freekick and he couldnt see a thing because of that sun.

    Master stroke.

Well done Joey. Absolutley revitalised player since he got dropped.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Agree he is playing better but wouldnt go as far to say absolutely revitalised. He knows himself that distribution wise he is better than he has shown for us so far.

i didn't understand why some of our fans were booing this...it was clear what Joey was doing - worked a treat.

Defo mate. I along with many others was pulling my hair out at this fella & his poor performances prior to the Liverpool game but absolutely take my hat off to him. He has come back & shown everyone why we signed him with some sterling performances. Wasn't amazing yesterday but he was still very very good.

I'll be honest, I had two moans yesterday first one was Cisse not playing. After watching the WBA game I thought he was needed to get the goals.
Second moan was Joey switching sides.

What this shows is that they quite clearly know what they are doing and I should stick to FM 2012!

Not only the sun but i remember MH pointing out in an interview that it is very important we get that 1st goal, so could be a case of kicking into the loft 1st half is for that reason.

I always prefer the away team to be attacking the Loft in the 2nd half. kicking towards their own fans, who more often than not are whipping up a decent noise is usually hard to cope with and we often concede. stick with this for me.

Did we not attack the loft for either the Swansea or Arsenal game?
Was wondering wether this was a) a superstitious switch (i.e. it worked before) b) the sun in the oppositions keepers face or c) Joey just doing it to hack our fans off.
Had never thought it was so we increased our chances of scoring first because we're attacking our fans. Sounds right though.

Smart move by our captain. Know your ground.

Wondering if this will have the same affect on Adel, I mean he's improving but imagine if he comes out at Stoke like way he played last year :drunk:

                            But yeah, genius from Barton!

Great decision, but probably had a lot to do with our defenders going through their usual back four routine during the warm-up and they were telling the coaching staff they couldn't see a thing when the ball went up the the air.
