Prem club or cup win

I was talking to a friend a while back (supporter of Man U) and it was about Prem sides fielding weakend teams in cup competitions to save the players for the League games.

What would fans prefer?

a. Yo-yo Prem-side that wins cup competitions

b. Prem side that wins and challenges for nothing other than Prem League survival

Would rather become an established Prem side like before!!!
