one very traumatic day

was watching qpr v norwich away
it was so special watching dave thomas play
without shinpads his speed made him always win the day

but my old vauxhall viva van was very old
driving that far i was either mad or very bold
but the title was in sight
who could stand against this brilliant side we were dynamite

phil parkes in goal was as agile as a gazelle
gillard at left back was not going to be beaten i could tell
but all our dreams were wrapped up in our attacking midfield
unfortunately the defence was nt given a shield

big frank and webbies old legs couldnt hold those ebulient canary forwards im so sad to say
and under the cosh we were going to stay
our hearts were broken
the norfolk fans were awoken
the gods had spoken

so for us londoners it was back on the A 10
back to the smoke again
never again was our dream so close to being fulfilled,it could have been the proudest day in our history
36 years later,and we are still looking for that final peice of our destiny
