Sir Les was the complete striker and my hero. He could beat players that were 6'5 in the air and could leap like a salmon.
I'm 30 and remember the good old days well.
I am going down LR for 2;30 as I want to see Wayne Fereday another quality player.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Funny thing i cant think of a single sir les moment, i guess the best memory i have is always going into a home game thinking that the opposition will have to score 2 to win as les will score.

Yeah he was like a goal head start and also Seaman in the side I felt we would beat anyone and we normally did

Time is a great healer, isn't it?
We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are...

Two hat-tricks in 3 days over Easter back in i think 94... I can't remember who the first was against at Loftus but know the second was away to Everton and we won 4-2. That was the time when for me he was the best around and forced his way in to the England team. It was incredibly satisfying to have a QPR player playing centre forward for England..... Legend!!

Grew up watching him and made me want to be a centre forward. Strong, pace, & finishing with it....Stan & Rodney way before my time so Sir Les greatest player I have seen at QPR.

It was Forest we beat (4-3) at home and then we beat Everton away 5-3

That goal against Sheff Utd at home was unforgettable after 2 mins

Leaping like a salmon agianst M'Boro in the dying minutes to nod home to make it 3-3

Lobbing the keeping against Oldham to then celebrate the goal with a fan who had run onto the pitch with a high five.

Comfortably beating the likes of Adams & Pallister to headers depsite being 5'11"

Too my recolation only ever scored 1 goal that was from a dead ball situation.

For me Sir Les just had that presence about him, power, technique and enormous amounts of energy. Everytime he turned out in a Hoop shirt you just knew we had the guns to score and win. I think we miss him more than possibly any other player since Stanley.
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

was very young maybe 5 or 6 just remember that red escort van he had when he played for Hayes my dad was physio there at the time and it was forever breaking down and everyone use to have to push it round the car park for him to jump start it! Remember the day he left for rangers I was so sad and cried, at his last game I was sitting in the treatment room and in walks les my dad said to him I was upset he was leaving so les came and sat next to me and said don't worry I'll get you and your dad to come watch me at Qpr and true to his word he did, he left me and my dad two tickets and two players bar passes in the box office, I was made up and kept the tickets and the note he left for us in a scrap book, we met him after the game in the players bar and he told us how the old escort van had gone and he'd brought himself porsche!

Just remember the look on my dads face when les told him he was going to sign for Qpr, my dad was so happy les was going to play for the team my dad supported all his life.

The rest is history really les became a legend and my dad moved up the football ladder too wealdstone, Watford and then finally he got the job as a physio at Qpr

Dyslexic so please don't feel the need to correct my spelling mistakes as I really don't give a **** and before you say use spell checker if it is spelt right / wright but not in context spell check is useless
