Just remember the look on my dads face when les told him he was going to sign for Qpr, my dad was so happy les was going to play for the team my dad supported all his life.
The rest is history really les became a legend and my dad moved up the football ladder too wealdstone, Watford and then finally he got the job as a physio at QprI played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Another memory that always sticks was in the FA cup qtr final at Old Trafford when he left Bruce for dead on the half way line, who was about 10 yards behind him when he reached the box, and i was thinking go on Les...only for him to pull his shot wide.... then that tw@t Lee Sharpe scored and did his annoying celebration and the rest is history...
Even against them at their best in their back yard, we always had hope with Les in the team, and you know they were scared of him as was every other defence... that says a hell of a lot.

Whenever his name was on the team sheet, you felt sure he'd score, and he usually did. He had great service from Andy Sinton, and the likes of Bardsley and Wilson.
I remember getting an Exec. box at White Hart Lane (through my then employers) and he got himself sent off early in the 1st half!
His brace at Upton Park was probably my favourite memory of him, in the 0-4 win up there.QBP 20th August 2009..."To be fair, I'm glad we are top of the table (for agents fees). Shows we are not a selling club anymore."

Great player used to love watching him
The funniest story I ever heard about him was when he was playing away at West Ham and was seeing that tv presenter Danni Behr at the time
Apparently the hammers fans were trying to wind sir les up by chanting that Dani, er, liked an unnatural sex act. Sir Les put his hand to his ear (to show he could hear what they were chanting) and then smiled and nodded (as if to imply yes she does).
Apparently followed one of the biggest rounds of applause from the hammers fans for an away player. Quality

So many memories of him and his great goals. He could leap like a salmon, was as strong as an ox (after his weight training) and was too fast for most defenders.
Yes, he was also very polite and humble unlike some of the posers today.
I was there when he scored hsi hat-trick against Forest and listened to the radio when he scored another one at Everton during the Easter weekend.
I also seem to recall that he often scored against Luton. There was one game at LR when Luton were leading 1-0 and QPR should have had a penalty, which the ref turned down, but Sir Les got hold of the loose ball, beat two players and blasted the ball past the keeper as if to say who needs a penalty? He then scored again a few minutes later to secure a 2-1 win.
I also loved the way he would pick up a pass around the half way line run towards goal, beating two or three players before drilling in a shot past the keeper to score. Sheff Utd, Luton (twice, once at Kenilworth Dump) amongst others.
Yes I do recall he was booed at first. That was when he was too lightweight and often described as lazy (probably because we all knew he could do so much better than he was doing).
I also know that he is something of a legend in Turkey after just one season on loan with Besiktas).
