its his first season in the premiership! give the boy a chance hes still young and has alot to learn! suppose the people that are slating taarabt think people like bothroyd and wright-phillips have performed better this year
He has the vision for making passes and keeps himself busy getting into space playing the ball around
Had great games and some poor ones were the majority of the team played bad
Overall was a good season for him not excellent but can offer so much more for next season once MH can enhance him as a top player in the Prem (I hope)
From what i have read, no one is slating Adel, people are just saying he ain't been all that in the PL and his stats (which is all you can go go by) back it up, with one goal and a couple of assists. Football leagues around the world are full of wonder kids that did not live up to the "wonder" tag.
This was the season everyone said he would show his stuff, now it's next season or the season after or the season after that, so its time for people to accept that Adel is an average football player, who on his day (like many other players) has the ability have a very good game.
I say watch him next season (if we stay up), because I think he'll be really good next season. Because of that whole PSG thing, he wasn't really up for it, until around December/January anyway. A long pre-season break will do him good I think, he'll have time to practice what he needs to, Hughes will be giving him advice and I think he'll really be prepared for next season.
He hasn't been amazing this season yeah...but he hasn't been as terrible as some of you lot say. He's getting involved more and we are seeing a new Taarabt out there, one that is growing into a team player which he isn't perfect, at at the moment, but is growing into a much better player. That's just what I think though...

Silver, I see what you are saying, but what ever way you look at the stats, Adel's do seem to back up what the OP said. Other midfielders may mot be as gifted as Adel, but they do have better stats, its a simple as that.
Adel was fantastic last season, but is just an average player this season.

Dale, I understand you are an ardent fan of his and totally respect that.
Totally agree with your first 3 sentences , but dont think it has been a good season for him, or any of the team TBH
Perhaps with good management behind him, he'll be a good player next season..where ever he is....?
If you remember in his 1st two years with us when on loan he wasn't that brilliant but last season when Neil took him under his wing gave him the captaincy and built the team around him we saw a much different Adel (Amazing).
I think what he has lacked this season is stability at the club and a lot of big egos taking the highlight off him (which he loves) and this has affected his confidence, you have probably seen the interview he gave after the Arsenal game and how he said he had been affected by his lack of goal scoring etc.
Mark has finally got hold of him again and he is playing better football, all over the pitch now by the way, he needs that confidence and I feel he will be a better player next season.
You gave him his chance in his 1st few years to come good, now his game has changed just give him a chance with that, he still adds that bit of magic every so often and this is what we all love so just wait.
