He was closed down quicker than any other of our players, which probably means that they were told to watch him. He's frustrating, but every game this season he's getting better and better imo, and better as a team player rather than a one man team player.
Any team that plays Barca, if you pause when Messi has the ball, literally the whole defence is only after him and don't even look at other Barca players making runs...and they use this to their advantage and go and score..Maybe we could use this tactic?

he's played nearly all his football in the championship where he is clearly too good. one season in the top flight and people want rid???. some players take time to adjust to that level and from what i have seen in the past few weeks he is getting to grips-hughes has him backtracking and marking his man when we don't have possesion-a sign of his maturity of late.he will never win you every game but has something a lot of midfielders don't have anymore-skill!! will only get better under hughes. this is a young man who had a lot of hopes on his shoulders after last season and with better players will do the bizz in this division!!! better to have a look at our midget who has been one of the worst buys ever at rangers-he auditioned for the new different strokes movie but never got the part because speilburgh said he's only tall enough for e.t 2.

He didn't have his best game today but he's been good since January onwards mostly. He'll improve the longer he's in the Prem

Yes he is frustrating but saying Barton who has had what 3-4 good games in an entire season or Cisse who has been banned for 7 out of 10 games is laughable tbh.

Wouldn't swap any of them above apart from Faurlin for Adel.

Well, Mark Hughes says he wants him to stay and he is going nowhere, so we have to trust in his judgement.
I think Mark Hughes could turn AT into a far better player -- he has clearly been working on his defensive game already, and with a full pre-season and the squad having a chance to get to know each other better, who knows.

how many goals he scored this season? how many assists? how many shots on target? more stepovers than Anton du Beke but will then hold on to the ball and lose it.... Ben Arfa ...now theres a midfielder with skills and creative quality that has prem class. Adel unfortunately has proved nothing this season and might be better off toddling off to Wolfsburg if theyll have him in the summer (If we stay up otherwise hang on to Adel as he is a great Championship player). No denying the guy has skills and talent just has a lazy attitude and no football brain.
