its all about the money....
business..we need the ££££££££££££££
when we sell out every game for a season, then talk of a new ground
but whre?
qpr is ideal right now...
surrounded by tube stns, buses, overground and the westway
best ground in london to get too..
so what to do??
we'd need to buy out the properties in ellerslie and at front of loftus rd...maybe £20m, then planning ec....to redevelop hq
or
try a second tier on ellerslie ( maybe 3000) using cantilever and using glass type materials to allow sunlight thru to homes behind...
add a third to SAR..but rumour is it wasn't underpinned and we can't go up, without digging down and supporting structure.
or we get the land around the plastic pitch, territorial army base and maybe some of the gardens..qprfc would have to offer loftus rd for development in exchange or access to any gym built into new ground.

I wouldn't mine if the ground had a sponsor, because as most people have said, most fans won't refer to it as that anyway...though i don't think that is a long term answer. I think a move will have to come, especially if we get the success we expect...because the ground is just too small, will be a shame though because i love loftus road..

Exactly.
I quite like the location, and it is easy to get to by tube, but the restricted views annoy me and considering the price we pay to watch the game, they make it very hard to attract fans to watch CCC football.
Who wants to pay £20-30 to see a game where the goal is blocked by a roof support.
If, and it is a big if, QPR get promoted, demand for tickets will be high and there is no way LR can accomodate those fans wishing to attend. And if QPR still had a small capacity, I suspect the admission prices would be put up towards the £40-50 price range, even with the obstructions.
Sorry, but I cannot see how LR could be redeveloped into a more comfortable ground with a bigger capacity to accomodate a Prem Club.
As for the name, they could call it whatever they want, even Micky Mouse's Clubhouse, as long as the income generated was spent on improving the squad and perhaps reducing the prices.

a said above there was a deal with english heritage that meant while the bbc was there they would not make the building listed. this was so the bbc could make alterations for filming puposes etc. the bbc agreed that when they left they would restore parts of the building to its 60's style. when they leave it will then be a listed building. i don't remember the exact parts that will be listed but i think the main building was included.
that knocks that theory on the head. doesn't it

FB, BE & LM have not bought into QPR becuase they love football or QPR, but for profit and possibly to boost their egos.
The club has potential due to its loccation, the population in West London from Chiswick to Hayes and up to Brent, is very big and providing the owners built a new 40,000 seater stadium and the club was successful, they could attract enough fans to fill it every week.
I know the club is struggling for fans at present, but look at how Chelsea sell out Stamford Bridge (40,000+), but around 8 years ago where struggling to average more than 25,000 and if you go back a few more years, it was less than 20,000.

This is an absolute no brainer for any club.
It's effectively FREE money. The sponsor gets their name plastered all over the stadium/tickets/shirts and the media (Jeff Stelling and the gang will refer to it by the sponsor name on Soccer Saturday) yet the fans still call the ground by the old name anyway.
Riverside Stadium or the BT Cellnet Riverside Stadium?
Friends Provident St Mary's Stadium or St Marys?
Even Huddersfield's ground, which is now on it's 4th or 5th sponsorship partnership is still referred to as the McAlpine - the original sponsor...not whatever pharmaceutical company now has naming rights.
Only tends to work for brand new stadiums where the ground has not been referred to as anything else eg the Emirates, but even then, most Arsenal fans still refer to it as Ashburton Grove.
If there is the money out there, rip their hand off right now.
