  • warnock given too much time.

i tip my hat to mark hughes and his coaching staff for all the hard work that they have put into our club.
They have turned us around from a laughing stock and into a premier league club who is feared by other clubs.

our wins against liverpool and arsenal were superb but i cant help feeling that it has been all for nothing because i do believe we will be relegated come may.

the blame for our relegation lays on the shoulders of the misfit warnock and the chairman for not acting quickly enough.

i saw the signs way back in early november and i voiced them and stated we needed a hughes or holloway in charge.

If fernandes had the balls he would have got rid then but no, he waited till the mass discontent was on display at mk dons before he would act. just imagine what our points would be now if hughes was in charge from november.

too little too late tony. aka t.l.t.l.t
    nsa/cia spy on this..............┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐

If we do still go down i believe we must keep Hughes in charge for the season in the Championship, it is slowly turning round, but its still very fragile. Im sure Hughes would take us straight back up.

To be fair to TF he is new to this and probably thought that sacking the manager every month as per Tango and Cash was not the best business practice. I think he reacted to the results Sunderland started getting after appointing MO'N. Agree MH could have done with more time and also would have been able to review the playing squad well before January window and maybe sorted out deals before hand rather than at the last minute.

As for NW, maybe not cut out for PL but after what he did for us you won't hear me slating him. He got us promoted as champions but it wasn't to be. Wish him well but won't be supporting dirty Leeds.

Can you imagine how much grief TF would have got if he'd sacked Warnock in November, like you suggest? After the Stoke result I was sure we were destined to finish 10th...

Another Warnock thread Hitman? Have a day off will ya

As for Geng's post above; totally agree mate. Hindsight is a great thing. Its proven the right decision (IMO anyway) getting rid of NW, but what you say about if we had done it in November is spot on.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Warnock Averaged 0.85 points in the 20 games he has been in charge.
Hughes Averages 1 point a game from the 14 he has been in charge.

This. Only mistake TF/AB made was not taking us over sooner giving NW enough time to sign the players he actually wanted...

Pretty sure we would have gone down with Warnock in charge. I'm afraid he was the master of his downfall bringing in Barton and SWP. I believe he lost the dressing room and once that happens there is only one result.

Warmock for me will always be a legend for helping us win the CCC and bringing a smile back after so many bad years.

Ultimately though Briatore will be the reason we go down if we do. He tied Warnock's hands in pre season and effectively stunted our chances. What a complete dikchead he is.

Hitman34. I have supported QPR for over 45 years. I put Neil Warnock in the top 3 Managers we have had in all that time. Alex Stock and Dave Sexton are up there with him. He was like a breath of fresh air from the day he walked into Loftus Rd. What he did in 22 months was astounding. The preparation for our return to the premier division was wrecked by the owners of our football club. It gave Neil Warnock next to no chance. He had to sign players in a very short period of time, and probably players that weren't his first choice. In quite a few of the games before the end of December, we competed very well (Everton, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Stoke, Wolves, Chelsea, Man City and even Swansea) I admit we were limping a bit to the January transfer window. However, we got there without being in the bottom 3. Clearly, Warnock had his transfer targets who would have come in and improved our situation. There is no doubt in my mind that Warnock would have taken us to mid table safety. He absolutely deserved that chance. The decision by Fernandes was scandalous, and has put us at a big risk of returning to the Championship at the first attempt.
Mark Hughes made a disastrous start for us. Fortunately, the last 2 games at home have saved him from being a complete disaster. You cannot give him any credit for the Liverpool game. For 77 minutes in that game we were a shambles. I still don't quite know how we turned that game around. Let me assure you it wasn't anything to do with Mark Hughes' tactics. It was all in the lap of the gods! Our away form under Hughes so far has been next to hopeless (1 draw at Aston Villa) Other than the Villa game, we haven't looked anywhere near getting a result away from Loftus Rd. It is this fact that could yet send us down.
Please do not get carried away with this appt by Fernandes to bring Hughes in during the middle of the season. It could still prove fatal. Of course, as a Rangers man, I pray this doesn't happen. But do not blame Neil Warnock. He definitely could have kept us in this premier league

Well said that man...even though I think you meant Briatore is a '########'..

You could argue that the legend Warnock had his hands tied in pre season and that Hughes arrival DURING the January window also hindered the development of the team....

A gathering of highly talented individuals but not yet a team.

But in response to the original thread.....never slate Warnock.
