  • QPR v Baggies

Ok i thought i should mark my 5,000th post by trying to do something sensible for a change, so i thought i'd do a our record v the Baggies.
We have lost 4 league games at the Hawthorns in the last 30 years, the last time we lost there was memorable in so much as Flavio sacked his 1st manager, John Gregory after a 5-1 defeat, in which if memory serves a certain Ishmael Miller, along with Kevin Phillips terrorized our defence.
In those 30 years v the Baggies QPR have W 9 D7 L 7 (league) home and away.
West Brom do figure quite prominently in our history, obviously our League Cup final win in 1967 against them is the standout one, but as i say John Gregory became Briatore's first victim, it was against WBA that our joint managers Steve Gallen and Marc Bircham took control for their one game in charge before Paul Hart arrived, and on the 3rd April 1982 we beat them in an FA cup semi-final at Highbury 1-0.
So hopefully they'll be as obliging this weekend and help us go along way to securing our Prem status. We have not lost a league game away to WBA, in the top flight, since 1979 (33years) This year is the 1st season we have played them in the Premier league.

i felt we had a fair record there....def had a share of draws...
for me the important thing, IT'S IN OUR HANDS..up to us, if we are good enough, lucky enough and want it more..we should be ok...it'll be a horror day if we go to citeh and have to hope for other scores....ie chelsea v blackburn ( would they consider a 1-0 loss?to send us down)....we go to the hawthorns with hope and maybe more confidence than in a while.

chelsea don't care about us. the fans do, but the players don't know a thing. that's why we beat them...they didn't realise what it was all about :yush:

Yeah i agree i want this done as quick as, this system we are currently using seems to be well understood by the players and they seem alot more confident, and defensively sound, i though even v the mancs we looked good in defence considering we were under the cosh and could hardly get out. They created very few clear cut chances imo.
