  • Zamora last night

Bit of an unsung hero for me.

Hold up play is excellent, very good at bringing others into play, and also really good on the ball.

Strikers like him probably won't bag 20 a season but he is a massively important player for us and looks to have been just what we needed.

Never noticed it so much last night, but watching the game back now I've noticed just how hard he works too - whenever he lost the ball he worked really hard to get it back, chasing defenders and dropping into midfield etc.

Be interesting to see what happens when Cisse is back, because the likes of Zamora, Mackie and Taarabt are all excelling as a sort-of front 3.

Zamora's been quality since he signed, he is so good in the air and gets others involved brilliantly, few more goals would be nice but as long as the team keep scoring I don't mind.

i like him, what he does is rattle opposition defences by really bullying them and giving them a real physical test. i think they know they have been in a game when they have been trying to deal with zamora. it will be an interesting spectacle watching him playing against sjoke when we face them on 6th may. their team is mostly compiled of a bunch of right meatheads.

i also think his hold-up play is great, he had a few poor touches last night and was unlucky on a few occasions but compare him to bothroyd and bothroyd wasn't even getting in the positions to be able to have a few poor touches, he wasn't bullying the opposition defence at all compared to bobby.

it's no wonder the guy needs to be subbed in the final quarter of the game, he looks bloody proper done in.

i thought buzz was shot last night by about 75 mins, had hardly any legs left in him. team worked hard!
        come on you r's!
