As if the F.A. haven't dug a deep enough hole for themselves...
As if the F.A. haven't dug a deep enough hole for themselves...
...We now learn that Lee Mason and his assistant Ceri Richards are both dropped from officiating premier league games this weekend...and yet strangely they have found neither to be at fault for the Derry red card.
quite confusing. Not lifting the card on Derry suggests he committed a foul inside the box and that Ashley Young did no dive. On the other hand, what does dropping Lee Mason from officiating this week mean?
I actually don't blame the ref for anything other than being so quick to give a pen and get out the card. He was let down by the lino who is clearly inept and should be banned, and conned by a cheat.
The fact the FA have chosen to ignore public, professional and media opinion and failed to do the right thing and overturn the ban is quite simply a disgrace. There was minor contact yes, but never any sort of a foul whatsoever amd anyone with a brain can see that.
So why won't they do it then... Do they think it could dent revenue opportunities with the England euros marketing options if they basically admit one of their players is a cheat...? I bet Young is one of the few players chosen for the marketing shots... You know the type where there's normally about 5 players used.... If he is one of them, and being Uitd iexpect he will be, that will be the reason!!!
anyone watch the rovers v liverpool coverage where they showed a pen that was given against friedel for which he was given a red card and it was subsequently over turned! There didnt seem much more in that than in derrys red card, the whole thing just stinks to high heaven.
Don't know if it's true, but Lee Mason is the ref for the Wigan vs. Man Utd match tonight?
Again, reffing a match which has a direct bearing on the team he supports.

By the way, Shaun Derry was not even allowed to attend the hearing as per FA Rules, what would the European Court of Human Rights make of that policy !

There is absolutely no logic in that, is there?
Unless, there is more than a hint of truth in the belief held by many Rs fans, that the FA will give a little push every now and again to a QPR side teetering on the brink of relegation.
Now, that would make the FA's inexplicable actions seem logical. The corrupt ******s.
