The original leader(s) of the loft was Vic Stephenson and Nottingham Gary and yes I do know where you are coming from with this post as well

I know what saying about not seeing Pete up until a few years ago because no one I know had ever seen / heard of him either. Give the man his dues he is a committed fan and puts alot into supporting the club (with a fair bit of self promotion along the way). Whether the man sees himself as the focal point of the Loft I guess only he knows but carrying a drum certainly adds fuel to the fire that he might.

The drum has made the Q Block the focal point of singing from within the ground - but when the Lower Loft terrace was removed that corner of the ground over the years turnt into that anyway.

I'm not sure Pete see's himself as the 'Leader of the Loft' but I'm pretty certain he loves the attention all the same.

I see you upset a few posters, your thread antagonised a little but I'm not sure why. I know as a local lad you asked a straight forward question probably because you don't recognise alot of thesed new faces and you definately don't see them out after the game. You know as much as myself come about 1900 on a Saturday you'll be lucky to find a Rangers fan in Bush. The Spingbok is dead, Smuts dead, Conningham dead, British Queen dead all the way up the Askew Road dead.

          What do you think?

                DO NOT CLOSE THIS THREAD

Keep it clean, but please don't close it !!. I can deal with it and have no issue with the upteenth time answering question as it seems to squash the postivity some want to go on the offensive and question my support for the club. Only right, that I answer the question.

Askewboy, some might see you as a pillock, the same they do about me, end of the day we all support QPR.

Now, the old chestnut of supporting QPR and because you are know everyone that supports the club, you may not understand the power of the internet. Pure and simple for the last say 6 years I have been posting not only on this new site, made popular by the fans but OLD official messageboard from at least 2003, and many who post will remember me from that. That by-passes the "last few years" you mention.

Now, lets go before 2002 and I kept myself to myself travelling on the old official coaches and really didn't know too many people. Does not make me not a supporter, but moved to the qblock (must be around 1998?) after being in the lower loft for many years. I used to have another Indian mate (different from MYU) and simply went to games and went home again.

Late eighties and early nineties run a football team for my step-son and every week took a group of about 15 kids every week to see QPR at home in Ellierslie Road stand, which used to be the family section. Before 1988, when I met my current partner and introduced to my step-son, I used to sit all over the place and this goes back to the very early eighties.

I think, that I have explained my supporting QPR to many now and it gets rather boring, as it seems a form of attack when arguments on current issues cannot be discussed in the proper manner. I've notice many say that it doesn't matter if a fan goes to games or not, but I am forever answering my questions on supporting QPR. Which is it?

Askewboy, I haven't a clue who you are and to be honest it doesn't really matter, its not a matter of being some kind of leader. I just enjoy a passion for the club, apologise if that offends.

                I

                        ello fella

askew as of the pub?? Do they still do the pizzas in there?

In fairness, Pete (and others) know a heck of a lot more than the vast majority of fans. I agree about the fawning though.

I get a tenth of what he does from 15 year old boys and well, its fekcing embarrassing for me so god knows what it makes him feel like.

More like Askew Road and the Askew Arms.....Askewboy doesn't sound like the sort of fella who goes for a pint of hoegaarden and a stonebaked pizza

Pete, just as you dont boo that doesnt distract from the fact that you were a Palace season ticket holder for 19 years and have a Palace tattoo
