  • This mysterious F.A. Independent Regulatory Commission

The F.A. Independent Regulatory Commission responsible for making these decisions:

    Who are they?

    How 'independent' are they?

    What is the selection criteria/process?

I've been on their site and can't find diddly squat. If there is anything there they've made it very difficult to find...certainly doesn't seem very transparent. Why not be more up front over such an important body?

I'd like to know this too. It's unbelievable how every man and his dog disagreed with the decision yet these 'clowns' reject the appeal. They back the referees all the time and i think it's about time senior officials high up in the game start criticising performances by referees and linesmen when needed or referees explain their mistakes/decisions after viewing tv evidence.

The original decision had so many errors it was an embarrassment yet absolutely nothing has happened, and unbelievably the appeal has been rejected.

Why can't the referee come out after the game, admit his assistant got it wrong and then he got the decision wrong too and he'll be urging the FA to rescind the red card. Why doesn't that happen? It's not hard and would make referees and assistants respected.

Is it not in the F.A. constitution to give a Statement of Reasons for all such decisions?

Who Cares they obviously dont understand the game, evidently they took it that it was the refs view that it was a pen and sending off. not that someone cheated! what they should do is say that the ref was wrong and inept and the linesman was completely not concentrating and both will now be removed from future prem games.panel probably crusty old blazer brigade

The plot thickens further every day...we now learn from a former FA compliance officer that this so called "F.A. Independent Regulatory Commission" are in fact nothing but "independent". They're in fact chosen from a list of FA council members i.e. FA prawn sandwich brigade that get freebies for international matches etc. Not exactly in their interests to make waves. Trade descriptions anyone? More...http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-ne...cision-169427?

Yes, the members of the panel come from within the FA. It can include former players, officials, managers etc that have some involvement with the FA, such as Gareth Southgate . They are far from independent and are certainly not going to bite the hand that feeds them and go against the FA's original decision.

The whole system is flawed. I would like to think that the events of yesterday & Sunday will be the straw that breaks the camels back and those with power and influence in the game will call on the FA to make big changes, unfortunately it won't be and we'll have to go on putting up with clueless decisions from faceless, corporate, Fifa loving executives that have nothing in common with the everyday football fan that keeps them in their job.

I have been in front of these clowns at Lancaster gate and they are an old fart from a county association, so they are independent, but they are useless and very seldom go against the ref's written word. The only time they do is when the ref admits he was wrong.
