I know people will say we should have got him, and I do rate him... and would have taken him gladly.
BUT - Boro are fresh out of the Prem, parachute payments, big stadium/stage.
I don't blame him for going there, or us for not breaking the bank to get him in.
The same as Cox to WBA, and apparently Beckford is very eager to move to Newcastle.
There is a connection between those three clubs, and we can't be too surprised when they choose clubs like that over us.
Yes I KNOW we have rich owners, but it's still almost impossible to compete with Prem clubs, or those that are fresh out of that league. The difference between the two leagues is astronomical - in many ways.

Pete do you actually know what offer was put on the table?I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
